Your camera should be able to "format" the memory card. Try that.

SOURCE: Unlocking memory card

http://www.pentax.de/downloads/photo/uk/Optio%2060/Optio60_Manual_web.pdf

pg 17 at the bottom shows how to unlock the card, but it is simple, take out the memory card and on the side of it will be a little tab which can slide, slide it off the lock position and it should work

SOURCE: Memory card locked!??

What you need to do is take out the card, and on the side of it there should be a little gray thing which can slide up and down. It needs to be slid all the way up. I hope this helps!!

The built-in memory only has about 8 pictures or so. You have to buy a memory card to insert in the same section where the batteries are inserted.

Certainly. If you're sure you've copied all the pictures you want to your computer, simply format the card to wipe it clean. Rotate the mode dial to the screwdriver-and-wrench position and turn the camera on. Use cursor-down to select "Format" and press the OK button. The instructions are in the "Formatting an SD Memory Card or Internal Memory" section of the manual (page 22 in my copy).

Memory cards should be formatted each time you finish transferring your pictures to your computer. FixYa is full of people asking how to retrieve pictures from cards that haven't been formatted regularly.

Error message Built in memory full. Also won't read memory card.

You need to format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, you need to format the memory card in the camera.

Where can I get Free software to download pics from cam ptio w10

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I use 2gb cards in my Optio W10 and format them regularly on my camera every time I am finished transferring the pictures to my hard drive.

Internal memory card full

You are using built in internal memory (11Mb).

One of these must help:
*Check memory card.
*Check picture saving settings.
*Reset to factory defaults.

Memory card error and deleted some saved pictures

try using another memory card. I would take the memory card back to the shop and ask for another one. I had the same problem. it was the card, not the camera.
