LifeSpan TR 200 Treadmill - E7 error (incline motor). We turned the treadmill over and saw that the incline screw came unattached from the motor. We reattached but the treadmill still gives us the E7 error and won't allow us to reset the incline down to a neutral level.

SOURCE: Treadmill incline error

Try this, it fixed it for me, if it doesn't work let me know
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIIxoPtvhy8

I bought a used Precor 9.4 treadmill, but the incline adjustment was not working.
So, I did the following.
1. Turn off, unplug the treadmill and wait for an hour (this is for safety
2. Remove the black motor cover
3. Observe the transformer to the right of the motor and towards the belt ( I point to it in the video)
This transformer converts DC electricity to AC electricity and the AC current goes directly to the Incline motor which is in the black box towards the front of the machine.
4. On mine the wires had come loose from the transformer, they were soldered on very poorly, the wires are stiff and you should be able to see 4 wires coming from the top of the circuit board and plugging into the transformer, I had three of the 4 wires loose.
5. If you are not comfortable working with electronics or soldering DO NOT DO THIS REPAIR, you could get shocked very badly if you just go poking around in there with metal objects, get a friend who knows how to solder or hire someone.

6. It took about 5 minutes I just heated up my $10 soldering gun from radio shack and soldered all the loose wires that were about a millimeter away from the tabs on the back of the transformer, and VOILA! The incline now works!

Because you are hearing the lift motor making a noise, it sounds like the gears in the motor are bad. The fix is to replace the lift motor.

SOURCE: treadmill won't run the screen is showing E7

You probably need a technician to look at it. I would say the motor that runs the treadmill is faulty due to a fuse that has blown you would have to locate where this is first replace it and proceed to the nxt step. I say you may need a technician cos often you are dealing with mains power or small dc voltage in any case one should carry this out in a safe way.If you are not confident ring a professional Tech.

Hi i have a e7 code on my lifespan fit e3i elliptical help please

For E6 and E7 codes, while this code is displayed:

First, press and hold Level Minus, then the Start key (the Level Minus key first), for 2 seconds. (make sure you press Level Down a little before Start.) The console should beep twice; the display does not change.

If the potentiometer value on the left of the screen is higher than 240, press and hold the Ramp minus key to lower the ramp until the value is in a range between 48 and 240. Then release the button. May reset by itself now. Or, turn the elliptical off and back on to reset. If ramp goes up to 255 and won't move in any mode, unplug power for 20 minutes.

If the potentiometer value is lower than 48, press and hold the Ramp plus button to raise the incline until the value is in a range between 48 and 240. Then release the button. May reset by itself now. Or, turn the elliptical off and back on to reset.

Now press Start, and pedal for 30 seconds. The ramp should reset to zero, the lowest level.

Repco fitness Treadmill error E7

This happened to mine, e7 is an error in the incline, meaning that the incline is too high or too low in the accepted range for the starting position of the treadmill. When the treadmill starts it looks to see if the incline screw shaft of the incline motor is in the correct position. If it isn't it gives the error message and shuts down. This happened to us after we had moved and the treadmill was bumped around a bit, this caused the incline worm shaft to move out of position, and that is why we got the error message.
To fix the problem I just took the cover off the motor area of the treadmill (WITH THE POWER OFF AND CORD DISCONNECTED) and located the incline motor, it has a threaded rod and a big nut coming along side the motor itself. It is the smaller motor. On the end of the threaded shaft is a plus sign cut into the shaft, so that you can insert a philips head screw driver into it and rotate the shaft. The shaft will rotate easily in one direction. Insert the screw driver into the end of the shaft and rotate the shaft so it goes as far into the big nut holding it as you can, don't twist it tightly, just make sure that the shaft has gone all the way in without binding, it still needs to rotate freely in and out. Put the cover back on and then switch it on. The treadmill should now start right up.
