* your best bet would be to remove lock set and take it down to your nearest Home Depot, Lowe's, City mill, Ace Hardware, etc. It's a pretty common lock brand. The store key maker, door hardware section should be able to help.
* I've found it's best to replace the lock set as these combo locks only last about a year in heavy traffic areas. Especially if it's exposed to weather.
* Constant opening and closing shakes things up real good. Lots of small wires and plastic parts break all the time.
* Key pads wear out fast. Especially if the code is not changed every month.
This seems to be the best site for figuring out the lost combination. Follow all the directions and you will eventually get the combination. masterunlocked com
there is no way to reset a combo on a locked lock.
the only way to get the combo is to progress the numbers starting from 0000 and then 0001,0002,0003 etc.. all the way through until you get the lock to open. it will help if you know at least the first two numbers --- like if you set it to a date of year say ( birthday etc.. ) --so you will know that starting with 1900,1901,1902,1903 and so on and so on. I am a locksmith and when we get these locks in the shop from customers, we treat them like a puzzle and run through the combo in our spare time. ( the quickest time I have had on a 4 digit combo is 25 minutes -- the longest I have spent on a 4 digit lock is 2 days ).. progression is the only way for you to figure out the combo. some wheels can be read by a locksmith using special tools and you can check with your local lockshop and see if they have these readers, but I have never had luck reading the master pad locks.
just do it in your spare time or when you are watching tv -- you will get it eventually.
The sound on all the stock kits I found to be too low. What I did was create a custom kit and altered the dynamics of all the pads and cymbals - once you're in the dynamics settings, just hit the pads/cymbals the hardest you normally would and save that setting!
I have a similar weatherproof lock (different brand) that has the same problem. Remove the key. Line up the end of the u-shaped part with its hole, and put the u-shaped part against a surface that will not give (like the garage door frame, in my case). Hit the bottom as hard as you can with your hand. I had to do this more than once, but it did eventually lock.
I've locked and unlocked it only 2 or 3 times since it became hard to close (I had it for years without incident). The above is only a temporary solution.
I don't know if Master Lock will supply a combination or not but they can open it for you. There might be ownership issues that need verified. They don't know who's keys are in it and they don't know if the lock has been stolen.
Buy the identical lock if possiable and return as defective and they will reset. Otherwise odds or 1 in 999,000 differant combos. This is airport baggage security lock.
