The SD750 is a camera, not a battery charger. To charge the battery, use the supplied battery charger or a compatible replacement.

I too had a problem with the charging of the camera. After talking with a computer savy guy, he told me all USB ports are not equal. Many do not have the power to charge something. This goes for hubs as well as on board ports. I tried 3 computers and finally got the proper charge cycle to kick in. I am looking to get the AC adapter to bypass this problem.

SOURCE: My Nikon S4000 (black) won't charge. I've tried

Follow this order:
when plugging in the camera and then plugging into the compuer does the computer recognise it? If not this is either a bad cable, or not an active USB port, or something has gone wrong interanlly with the camera. Internal can be anything from bad voltage chip to bad battery. But some people have put the battery in backwards or with the positive terminal the wrong way. Double check that this has not happened, as anyone could have done it, unless you live alone. Try another computer and see if it recognises that camera if so the cable is good and you can continue to trouble shoot in other areas.

Cannot start camera

That simply means that the battery is dead. It lights up thru USB port as the port has charging facility. But battery being dead does not hold the charge. Change it.

LG Secret charging

Dr Know, doesn't know what he's talking about. I have a LG KF750 and have experienced the same problem.

Solution - Really jam the cable into the socket! The connection is pretty rubbish. The phone charging icon will (with some force and wiggling) appear on screen. Then carefully put it down and don't touch it!

USB charges very slowly, if charging from a dead flat battery it may take a good 20mins of charging to boot up.

P.S. the red camera light is not supposed to come on when charging. Keep wiggling the cable and the light will go off when the phone charging icon appears.

It has individual battery charger which plugged in AC.
You can see battery charger in user manual.

USB cables

make sure you plug the small plug on your usb cable into your camera...easy..
the big plug on your usb cable must be plugged into your usb port on your computer. It can only fit in one way and not upside down. It will also fit into your network port, but this not correct port. If your usb plug fits into the port the right way up, and upside down, then it is the wrong port. If your computer is old, then it may not have a usb port.

Charging camera

Are you using the front usb ports on your computer? My computer's front usb ports were not able to charge my camera, but the rear usb ports were able to (the charging light should stay on if it's charging correctly). I'm not an expert on this stuff, so maybe there's a power output difference between your frontal and rear usb ports.

Also, on the CD there was a camera connection driver. You might try installing that and see if that makes a difference?

Kodak easyshare m853 digital camera

is the light that's coming on green or red?
if it's red, there's a charging error - contact kodak, they may provide a 5v ac adapter to resolve your charging issue

if it's green, was it blinking or solid? is the battery drained?
if the battery still has a little charge on it, please connect it to the computer then turn it on, check if there's power light
check if the screen is black - that means it's making a connection and the charging is the only issue - computer not detecting it, maybe resolved by kodak's software support

if the camera screen is active - that means there's definitely something wrong with the camera

arrange repairs with kodak, include the battery and usb cable
