SAFETY THERMOSTAT MAY HAVE TRIPPED. MOST ARE LOCATED BEHIND THE REAR SERVICE PANEL. THERE SHOULD BE A WIRE DIAGRAM, USUALLY ON TOP OF THE OVEN IN A POCKET, IF THE THERMO IS OPEN, WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED & OVEN WOULD HAVE TO BE CHECKED FOR ACURACY.

SOURCE: When I try to start the self-cleaning oven,

there are switches under the cooktop that go bad frequently. i do not recommend ever using the self clean mode in an oven. the oven gets so hot that things have a tendency to melt because they dont build stuff like they used to. there is inadequate insulation in modern ovens. use easy off and follow the label directions. it'll be cheaper in the long run, trust me.

SOURCE: We tried using the self clean on our Whirlpool

take the trim peices off. take the screws that hold it to the wall out slidee unit out a little to remove the 2 screws from the consol lift the consol up and off. make sure that you have turned the power off inside the unit you will see a tech sheet that will tell you what that error code means. let me know how it goes the tech sheet is usually on the left side.

Whirlpool Gold Self-Cleaning Oven Error Message: E1 F5. What does it mean and can I fix it?

E1-F5 means the self clean latch will not lock.

Try pressing down any key and hold for 1 minute, see if this clears it. If not you will most likely need the latch switch replacing.

I am trying to run the self cleaning oven and keep getting a toubleshooting code of e1 f5. Not sure what this means or how to fix it/

Hello- The code you describe- E1 F5 - indicates a problem with the door switch. This little switch tends to fail during or after the 'self-clean' function is used. The switches are difficult to get to on some of these units so plan on just replacing it with a new one. This part is available locally at an appliance parts store with a complete model # from range tag. When power is re-connected, door motor should cycle back to correct position. Remember- techs call it 'self-destruct', so avoid 'self-clean'. The tried and true cleaning methods are a lot less destructive on the circuits and electronics. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed. Thanks- Ed.

Self cleaning feature

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.
