SOURCE: step 11 and 12...

I would guess you didn't do it in the correct order.

Are you 100% positive th  Ethernet cables are in the right ports?

Check the one that goes from the modem, to the router.

If that doesn't help, would you let me remotely control your PC and see what it looks like?

SOURCE: Wireless connection for Win 7

If you are trying to connect to the wireless network, then first you should know all the wireless settings of the router ( SSID , Security key or password).

If you don't the wireless settings of the router , then you will need to access the router set up interface.
On the set up page of the router you will be able to find the wireless settings of the router.
Once you have the wireless settings of the router then you just need to connect to the wireless network on your computer.

For Windows XP -

In case of windows XP computer you will find the wireless network connection Icon In the bottom right hand corner. right click on it and go to the option " View available networks ". You will be able to see your wireless network. If you do not seethe icon there , then try START ==> Control panel==> network connection. You will find the wireless network connection option.right click and go to " View available networks ".

If you get the message " Windows can not configure this wireless network " , then there is another software utility on your computer which is managing your wireless network. You will need to use that utility to connect to the wireless network. Suppose you have Linksys adapter on your computer , then there must be Linksys utility on your computer which can connect you to the wireless network. if you are not able to connect using that utility then you can switch over to the Windows Utility.

If you get the message " NO wireless networks are found in the range " , Make sure that the wireless switch on your laptop is turned ON. On the laptops there might be a wireless Switch that you will need to turn on. On Some laptops the wireless switch may be the combination of Fn + F2 Or Fn + F5 Or may be different than that. Once you turn on the wireless switch you will be able to connect to the network.

If you seethe wireless network and you tried to connect to the wireless network , some times you will get the message " Waiting for the network to be ready ". That means you might have tried to connect to this network before with different wireless settings . In this case you will need to remove the network from the preferred networks and try to connect again.

WINDOWS VISTA/ Windows 7

In case of windows You will find 2 computer icon in the bottom right hand corner.Right click on it and go to the option " Network and Sharing center ". Once you open the network and sharing center you will find the option " connect to the network " in the top left hand side. Click On connect to the network and you will see the wireless network that you want to connect. If it secured network then type the network key or passphrase and you will be able to connect.
If you get the message " additional log on information required " then you will need to add the wireless network manually.
If you get the message " settings saved on this computer do not match ..." then you will need to remove the network from the preferred network list. Try to connect again.
If you get the message " Press the configuration button ..." , On the same window at the bottom you will find the option " I want to enter the key manually " or " I don't want to configure the network ..." Click On it and it will ask you for the key.
If you see " Enter PIN number " , then at the bottom you will find the option " I want to enter the key manually " or " I don't want to configure the network ..." Click On it and it will ask you for the key.

For MAC OS

In case of MAC OS, you will find the AIRPORT icon the right hand top corner. If you click On it, it will try to connect to the wireless network. If you network is secured then it will ask you for the wireless network key or password. type the key and it will connect you to the network.
If you get the message " error joining the network " and if the wireless security type is WEP, then try to connect to the wireless network again. It will ask you for the network key / password again. Now this time enter $ sign before entering the network key . It will connect you.

Bravura not recognizing an Apple TV signal

You need to connect using an hdmi cable from the appletv to the tv, and notice which hdmi socket on the tv you use (eg 1 or 2 or 3...) Then make sure the light is on green on your apple tv by using the supplied remote control to power it up. And then you need to make sure you have chosen the correct hdmi source on your tv remote control (eg hdmi1 or 2 or 3...).

Trying to set up a LAN party for COD Black Ops - Zombies and some help is seemingly much needed. We have 2 TVs, 2 PS3s, 2 games, 4 players - splitscreen on each TV and a wireless internet connection...

First off I would not recommend wireless just because of issues with speed and latency.
You would need a 4 port hub and two rj45 ethernet shot gun runs from the hub to both of the units.
I would highly recommend this because of latency and other issues that might interrupt your lan party.
If you require internet access I would recommend getting a broadband linksys router www.linksys.com and following the steps above with your ethernet runs.
Let me know if you have any additional questions

Wireless router installation

Please see my response to this question. Your university's connection is most probably a LAN connection, so you'd need to follow the instructions as if you had a cable internet connection (unlike DSL, a LAN connection and cable internet connection don't require authentication with the ISP).

Can't connect DB 102 ADSL modem

Dear kcpau

You need to set the internet connection manually on Windows Me. Go to Control Pannel, select Network connections and follow options to select LAN settings. You might need someone to walk you through the steps.

Consider upgrading your ME to XP; Windows ME is unstable on networks and may trouble you to drinking. It is ultimately best. If you start upgrading it, XP will automatically put on the internet if you have your IP addresses already set, or will ask you to punch in IP addresses at the end, then you are done.

Good luck.
