Hello, Yes this can be put on laptop if you have a licensed software. But microsoft stop supporting this and there are lots of places on the internet that xp won't work.
Looks like it takes regular home theatre speaker wire. If this is a powered speaker (like a JBL eon g2), then all you need is a passive mixer, and connect the speakers to the mixer. If this is not a powered (amplified) speaker, then you will need an amplifier to boost the sound source and drive the speakers, so you would connect the mixer to the amplifier, then the amp outs to the speakers.
Uncover it... you will probably find that some of the LED's are not lighting. OFTEN soldering on circuit boards OR a bad LED in a string kills several like Christmas strings. More than this you need to be somewaht adept at electronics to repair it.
If by chance teh light is on the end of a long DMX cable run, read about putting a terminating resistor at the end of the chain. You say you are having "trouble"... that doesn't tell us anything that we could help you with.
I suspect an internal connector problem, maybe for floppy interface, that seek at boot when turned on.<br />Try to open the keyboard and gently disconnect and reconnect all internal cables (there are dozens). This is a very old model, but i enjoying it even today<br />
Take it to a Battery World shop or a similar one that only deals in all types of batteries. They will solve it quickly. Or you could go to any of their websites and ask them the question.
