SOURCE: Bathroom sink stopper came unhooked and out, not attached anymore

You will need to get under there and unscrew the popup rod located on the back of the drain. pull out the rod, drop the stopper in there and push the rod through the hole in the bottom of the stopper. screw the nut back on.

Stopper no longer stays in up position on my bathroom sink

Solution to the most common design...
If you can pull the stopper completely out of the drain with no resistance, do this.
On the back side of the tailpiece that attaches to the bottom of the bowl, there is a rod coming out of the back side that has a nut holding it in. Unscrew that nut and pull the rod out part of the way. There usually is a loop molded into the plastic on the lower end of the stopper where that rod inserts into. Turn the stopper until that loop is aligned toward the faucet and insert back into the drain but not all the way (keep it held up about 1/4-1/2 inch from completely closed). Reach under the sink and feel for the rod while you are holding the stopper in place and push it back in while you "feel" for the loop. You will know it is inside the loop when you can't pull the stopper out with not resistance. Screw then nut back onto the threads and finger tighten it until it has enough friction to hold itself at any position.

Hope it helps...

I can not close my bath tub drain. the plunger is all internal and wont come out either. I tried a coat hanger to push it down. no go.

on most tubs the stopper is made to come out! does the stopper have 2 screws at the stopper lever. if it does just remove these screws and pull the stopper out slowly. when putting in a new one. have the same length as the old one, then slide it back in the drain fairly slow until it goes all the way in. replace screws and try it! good-day!

Tub drain would not work . pulled on metal rod with vicegrips and it opened the eyehook connect it to the stopper. i can get it to grab on the stopper , but not enough to get it out. what can i do?

kohler hooks on to kinda of a coiled spring that you just unscrew, after you take the two screws out of the trip lever keep turning it to the left until it pulls right out.the stopper for the water slides into that spring at the height to make it go up and down with the trip lever,Ive done lots of them but its hard to explain. if not can you get at it in the basement?

Stopper has dislodged.

Hello. It is probably not broken. In order to fix it, you must go under the sink and above the trap. You will see where the lever for the stopper is attached and can be adjusted. If necessary look under another working sink with a similar set up. Joe

Yes, there is a nut on the back side of the pipe that should spin on/off. There is a metal arm that comes out and connects to the stopper arm located in the top of the faucet. Hope this helps
