SOURCE: Kitchenaid pro stand mixer will not turn on
How comfortable are you with electrical parts? With the mixer UNPLUGGED and the switch ON measure resistance between the (flat) plug pins. If it's infinite (no meter movement) which is to be expected, there is an open circuit. The switch could be open or the wire to the switch could be disconnected (improbable) or the motor could be burned out and open (not very probable).
Maybe you could take the switch to a shop and have it tested.
This is not really a solution, just step 1.
SOURCE: I recently acquired a KitchenAid/Hobart Model 4C
A number of attachments were available for the 4C, such as a juicer, a meat grinder, etc., all of which ran off the PTO on the front of the housing. The only beater, however, was the wire one. No dough hook was ever made. I have been told that the motor didn't have the necessary power to run a dough hook.
SOURCE: Is there an exploded assembly diagram I can reference
Hi LONGLEY632. It sounds like you’re in the need of your
mixer’s parts list. It provides ‘reasonable’
exploded views of the various components of your mixer. Enough so that you can disassemble, identify
parts and reassemble your mixer.
You
can download a PDF version from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click
on Customer Care>Locate Manuals &
Guides> then enter the visitor type “Consumer” and the 6 character model number, in your case use KSM90P,
in the Model Number box. Select one the files
listed for your model that appears under Parts List (16): KSM90PSWH0.pdf (354.08 KB) and
save that file to your PC. Check to
verify this matches your mixer model.
Good
luck! I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Make sure your Beater can slip in and out of the Beater Shaft
easily. Do not force the beater onto the Shaft if the shaft is bent.
If it cannot be removed easily by hand, use a soft rubber mallet
(not a steel hammer) to slightly tap the beater so it can be moved
up and down the shaft or from side to side. Then you can easily
turn the beater left and remove it from the shaft.
From Kitchenaid Manual:
To Attach Flat Beater, Wire Whip, or Dough Hook
1. Turn speed control to OFF.
2. Unplug stand mixer or disconnect power.
3. Tilt motor head back.
4. Slip beater onto beater shaft and press upward
as far as possible.
5. Turn beater to right, hooking beater over pin on shaft.
6. Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
