Contacting Dyson will probably be your best bet.
I had the same issue with excellent suction from the wand and none through the brush head. After reading above posts I confirmed that the hose was not transferring from the wand to the brush head when I tilted the vacuum from upright to reclined. I thought I had thoroughly checked for blockages until I detached the bottom of the hose from the vacuum and found a pen lodged in there that was preventing the transfer mechanisms from working. On the Animal 65 I found it best to remove the canister to access the red button that allows the hose to detach. The pen was in a location that I could not see when I detached the brush head and looked up the hose nor when I moved the plastic oval screen and looked down the hose.
If the hose has suction, then follow the route that the suction would continue when the hose is put back in place, all the way to the floor nozzle. Somewhere along that path there will be a blockage. Also make sure you check all the filters, that's the number one cause of loss of suction and people think their vacuum is broken
SOURCE: Suction
Might be the hepa filter needs cleaning? This is located in the housing on the side of the cleaner at the bottom (see your manual to find it). It is a big spongy ring which Dyson say you should remove once a month and wash in warm water. Dry off and replace in cleaner when completely dry. I've found this works and the suction is like that of a new machine!
SOURCE: Dyson DC07 hose has no suction
Just resolved the same problem...couldn't find a blockage anywhere, but pulled handle out of hose and extended hose as far as possible upward. Aha! There was blockage in the hose at the very bottom where the flexible hose meets the rigid part.. There is a lever which releases the entry to the bottom of the hose. A pencil, lots of coins, a crumpled receipt and general dirt were stuck. Easy to clean and now it works like new again.
SOURCE: dyson DC 14 lost suction to beater bar/ suction to hose/stick
My Dyson DC14 had no suction...see if this works...turn the Dyson upside down...there is a length of hose that connects the bottom of the vacuum to the top, careful remove one end of the hose and check for debris...mine was clogged. Removed the clog and voila...it works. Thanks for the above info on checking the hose for cracks.
SOURCE: dyson dc07 yellow/blue no suction at base
Sounds like you've **** up something which is obstructing the suction from the brush bar. There's a little section of curved grey pipe near the base which carries the dirt from the head up the vertical pipe at the back. This section can be removed, check there is nothing jammed in there, paper etc.
SOURCE: hi my dyson dc18 has great suction from wand but
My Dyson dc18 had the same symptoms. The wand worked well and the floor bar had no suction. After removing pieces & shoving my fingers into the machine (no blockage) I found the suction pipe rotates between two positions (floor and wand). It looks like a piece of plastic broke on the outside housing, so it no longer rotates positions when the wheels are raised or lowered. My son found we can move the suction by sliding a finger into the mechanism behind the wheel cover, and rotating the plastic piece clock-wise or counter clock-wise until it locks into position. It's a big pain but it works for now. I wish I could find a replacement piece online. Patty
