Are you talking about a water shock arrestor ? That probably needs to be soldered into the water line.

We have a whirpool stackable..washer isn't getting much water

Make sure hoses to washer are not trapped and that isolator valves are fully open. Isolators are located normmaly at the end of the copper pipe before the flexi hose to washer, they are often a small red or blue plastic tab that must be in line with the pipes to let water through

I have water hammer on my new Peerless kitchen

Single lever faucets can turn off a water supply instantly. Try slowing down your handle motions when operating your faucet.
Water hammer can cause damage to your water supply system and attached equipment...namely...your water heater tank.
If your water piping is easily accessed....you can use pieces of carpet cut into 4 inch squares to isolate the pipe from the wood joists, then use a J hook or wire hook to secure the pipe and isolation material (carpet). If you have copper tubing be sure to use plastic coated J hooks or wire hooks. Good luck and always know how/where to turn your water off before working on your plumbing.
ps if the hammering becomes a continuous fluttering hammer when you slow your handle motion....you need to tighten your crown adjustment nut located under your handle....most new faucets come with a tool that has an Allen wrench on one side to tighten the handle hold down screw...and the opposite side will have a fork like tool that is specifically used to adjust the crown adjustment nut. The nut is usually white plastic and has two notches in the top that fit the fork like tool. Turn clockwise slightly...then test...repeat until fluttering hammer is gone.

How are the copper water lines into the solenoid valve released to change the valve (part no.35981C()

If this is the slip in type water valve with plastic fittings where the copper is connected. There is a small ring that depresses towards the valve. When depressed it will release the copper and it can be pulled out. If for some reason the copper does not come out you may have to cut it as close as possible to the fitting. Just be sure there is enough slack in the pipe to be able to connect back to the new valve.

Copper waterline is broken

Hi .. there should be piping connectors at each end of the tubing. I would disconnect those connectors andtake them to the building supply store and get new fittings and a new supply hose. The new hose does not need to be copper,. you do not need to cut the existing fittings off the wall or the fridge, the new fittings, or new hose can connect directly to the old fittings. my tool of choice is a pair of crescent wrenches

Having trouble starting installation of copper tubing for ice maker. How do I connect the copper tubing to the refrigerator?

The tubing connects to the water valve. You should loop the copper in a manner so that when you pull out the ice box to work on it the copper will not break. Snug up your compression nut to the valve. Turn the water on. If it leaks tighten it a hair till its tight. That way you won't over tighten the compression fitting.68bd8a2.jpg

Water supply line pops off the valve and sprays the wall get on floor and winds up in the basement when water is requested by ice maker. How do you correct???

Your fill tube (supplys water directly to icemaker ) is frozen up inside the freezer . You need to replace the water valve due to slow leakage letting the drips freeze inside the tube eventually freezing solid and when icemaker calls for water , the water pressure blows the small tubing out of the fill tube .

I have a pyrotenex heating cable in my pipe at the cottage. the copper covering on the cable is cracked where it is attached to the fitting into the intake pipe. can it be repaired? i've been told that it...

no the coating cannot be repaired, because the coating is heat resistant and anything u put on will not adhere or be heat resistant enough, a silicon auto sealant may last for while but not likely to last long, u cannot solder as to high a heat will ruin core, had a though there is a cold copper solder solvent for fusing copper pipes if u wrapped with this copper tubing and cold soldered it might work it works on hot water copper pipes. If u try this and it works please keep me posted on this my email is [email protected]

Dishwasher leak

Tape won't solve this issue. The fitting I assume is a compression fitting which is a ring on the copper pipe that is compressed when the nut is tightened. If tightening the nut won't resolve the issue, then you will need to cut the copper behind the ring and put a new ring on an retighten. The key with compression rings is to make sure the copper is pushed into the male part on the fitting until it bottoms out before tightening the nut.
