SOURCE: TI89 Titanium--main board replaced, must get its serial number
I am not sure if the number on the case is the one required. The TI89 Titanium and other recent TI machines have a unique ID. To get it, turn the calculator ON, Press F1 select 3: About.
On the subsequent screen, one finds various bits of information among which is a product ID and a 14 digit hexadecimal number ID ( a number in base 16, with Arabic digits 0 to 9, plus and A, B,C,D,E, and F)
The same number can be revealed by TIConnect software:
After machine is recognized, click TI Device Info. The Device ID is returned under General Information Tab or ID list tab.
This device ID could be the one needed for the Calculus Made Esay. software
SOURCE: need to reverse lookup a 9digit serial-number
The serial number IS the V.I.N. goof ball(Solution # l ). US DOT did not require full 17 digits VIN until 81-82 on motorcycles. A knowledgeable Yamaha dealer can look this up. 1974 Yamaha TX500A.
