SOURCE: Yellow Wire has no power

Your stock radio should have had a wire that does this. It may not be yellow so look up the wiring diagrams for your car. If you can't find it by doing that, then look up a diagram of your use box. Sometimes there's a diagram on the back of the fuse panel cover or somewhere around there that tells you what fuses are from what. You can then run a new wire if you have to.

SOURCE: every time i try to hook up my cd player to my

this can be one of three things
1) the fuse on back of CD player could be blown
2) you need to push and hold the src/pwr button till unit powers on
as long as the yellow and red wire are attached to the positive battery wire you are good if the ground is to the battery ground and you try the first two steps i said and nothing happens........
3) ground the black wire from back of the CD player to any metal surface on the golf cart than try the first two steps again
it should power on if this is the case
hope i was able to help you

No Sound

A couple of things here. The yellow wire isn't for an amp; the blue wire is. The yellow wire should be connected to constant power. Secondly, that truck may have a factory amp, in which case you have to connect the blue wires to the remote for that amp, or it will light up, but you will never get any sound.

Installing aftermarket Kenwood stereo on 1991 Subaru Legacy. The subaru stock wiring does not have a red ignition wire. Can i simply connect the kenwood ignition wire to the Accessory +12v (Yellow/red)?...

Hi, according to my source, there should be an accessory wire that is blue with a yellow stripe. If your is yellow/red, that's fine. You actually should prefer an accessory wire to an ignition wire as there may be less static on the accessory wire. Just make sure the wire does not have power when the key is off. Don't use the illumination wires--they are not needed for the aftermarket head unit and should be taped off.

Replaced Headunit with after market one, but now the dash lights don't work, Fuses are fine, everything else is fine. Car is 1999 Mazda 323

Hi, there is a factory wire (red with a black stripe) in your car for illuminating the stock radio. This wire is not to be used in an aftermarket radio, so you need to make sure it isn't connected and also isolate and bare wire with electrical tape. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Red,yellow and blue with stripe hooks to what into harness

some decks have a solid blue for power antenna and blue with white stripe for amp turn on. if you have neither a power antenna or amplifier, i would not worry about connecting those two wires. do makes sure they are capped off and have no bare wires showing, as they are hot when the stereo is turned on.

Got power to cd but no display

One idea that comes to mind is,if I remmeber correctly, that model has a removeable faceplate, try this, remove the faceplate, take some denatured alcohol on a Q-tip,clean the electric contacts on the back of the faceplate and also on the front of the deck where they mate together repeatedly for about 4 to 6 times letting them dry between each time that you swab them clean, then replace the faceplate onto the deck being sure that you are seatting the faceplate completely and properly.
This has worked for me sometimes and sometimes not, its worth a try.
Good Luck !

Won't turn off or on automatically

You must have the yellow and the red wires tied together on a constant voltage source.

Only the yellow wire should be on a constant voltage source.

The red wire should only get voltage when the ignition is turned on or in the acc. position.

You need to rewire the red wire on the radio.

Let me know if it helps.
