SOURCE: some of the buttons don't work

Hi,
I just had the exact same problem with my TZ1. I sent it to DK Audio Visual Services in UK. They opened it and cleaned the Circuit Board. Now everything works fine. The damage? 75£ or something lie 150$ That is not so bad considering that the new TZ5 is sold at 400$ and more...

Cheers.

How can I snap A black & white still picture by finepix S8100fd Please help me...

Press the F button to bring up the F-mode menu. Use cursor-up/down to select "Color" then press cursor-right. Use cursor-up/down to select "B&W" and press MENU/OK. It's all in the "Using [F-MODE MENU] (Photography) [SHOOTING MENU]" section in the manual (page 73 in my copy).

In general you're better off shooting in color and doing the B&W conversion in a photo editing program on a computer. If you let the camera do it, it's going to do it its own way. On a computer, you have complete control over brightness, luminosity, contrast, and other factors. You can also simulate filter effects. And if you happen to take that once-in-a-lifetime picture, you can't convert from black&white to color.

I have a Philips 51PW9303 Rear Projection TV that had blue shadows around the sides of the screen and now has a green and red bowed line at bottom. Does I need a convergence board to solve this?

If the following doesn't work the tubes could be at the end of life:

Note: For best results, the Projection TV needs to be turned on for 15 minutes or longer before adjusting the picture tubes (convergence).

To adjust the convergence of the picture tubes:

  2. Press CURSOR RIGHT to enter the PICTURE menu.
  3. Use CURSOR DOWN and RIGHT to select and enter MANUAL CONVERGE.
  4. Press CURSOR RIGHT to select CONVERGE RED or press CURSOR RIGHT and DOWN to select CONVERGE BLUE.
  5. A crosshair will be shown on the screen. If there is any red or blue fringe around the crosshair, use CURSOR RIGHT, LEFT, UP, DOWN to try and merge the fringe colors with the crosshair.
  6. Press the 'MENU/SELECT' button to return to MANUAL CONVERGE menu.
  7. Press the 'EXIT' button to exit the menu.
If you are satisfied with the convergence you may stop now. Otherwise, you can continue and adjust the convergence more using mult ipoint convergence.
To Adjust multipoint convergence:
  1. Press the 'MENU/SELECT' button on the remote.
  2. Use CURSOR RIGHT to enter the PICTURE menu.
  3. Use CURSOR DOWN and RIGHT on the cursor ring to select and enter MANUAL CONVERGE.
  4. Press CURSOR RIGHT and DOWN on the cursor ring to select MULTIPOINT RED or MULTIPOINT BLUE.
