SOURCE: freezer and refrigerator not cooling. Makes a buzzing noise

hello sbarrry2 it sound like the motor that is running continously is the condenseer fan and the buzzing and then the click would be the compressor trying to start up and going off on overlaod. shut the unit off at the swiutch, let it cool down (3) hours possibly and then try to turn it back on. this should work. Thanks for using FixYA

SOURCE: Frigidaire side-by-side model # FRS26H5ASB4 making humming or buzzing noise

I had the same problem. I found the buzzing noise was caused by ice build up around the fan motor inside the freezer. I believe water must have leaked down around the fan during a defrost cycle. I removed the ice maker, the ice cube bin and ice dispenser auger motor. It sounds complicated, but it isn't too bad. The ice maker and auger are connected with quick connect plugs. So just unplug, remove the screws and remove them from the freezer. You will need to remove several other screws as well, I believe 11 in total as well as the top freezer rack. This will give you access to the white aluminum panel that runs from the top of the freezer to about halfway down the back of the freezer. After you remove the aluminum panel you will see the fan about half way down the freezer. I found a lot of ice around my fan. The fan blades were hitting the ice causing the buzz. Remove the ice and the buzzing is gone. It took me an hour to complete this repair. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: APC Back-UPS ES 500: green light flashes&continuous warning tone

On this unit, the likely culprit is the battery and that it needs to be replaced.

With that, you may want to think about the pros and cons of replacement versus buying an entirely new unit.

This unit is a relatively low end ups and the surge supression uses MOVs that wear out with repeated absorption of energetic spikes. That's why the better (and higher cost) UPSs and surge suppressors don't use them. They're not really that good anyway due to their relatively high transient impedance. The better equipment uses a "transorb" -- basically a back-to-back high voltage zener diode optimized for low breakover impedance and high instantaneous power capability. Unless the transient exceeds the design parameters of the circuit, these do not wear out and do not degrade. That being said, I will assume that you would likely replace this unit with a similar one.
The flashing may not be the battery at all and may be the charging circuitry, thus your new battery may not live very long (half the life that you would expect.

Many batteries out there are refurbs and have issues as all used parts do.

If you contact APC, they will likely give you a 35% discount on purchasing a new product.

The difference in price in the battery replacement vs. ups replacement at this level may only be a few dollars more.

I promise that I am not a UPS salesman, I just deal with many on a daily basis; therefore I am giving my two cents to try to thelp you avoid problems a year from now.

Testimonial: "Outstanding answer with right amount of detail. I swapped battery with identical APC UPS that I have and vfd that battery was cause of warning tone."

SOURCE: Buzzing noise when i turn off Garmin 60CSx

This problem is Mac OSX related and can be solved using Cleaneject http://www.javawa.nl/cleaneject_en.html
The OSX operating system creates several invisible files and folders on USB-disks, camera's and GPS devices and the Garmin GPS devices can't cope with these invisible files and folders.
Cleaneject erases the invisible files and folders.

It is probably a bad battery. They usually don't last much longer than 2-3 years. You could try replacing the battery, but I would suggest just replacing the whole UPS with a new model.

I own a Whirlpool model WBM35LW refigerator, a buzzing noise lasts for about 10 seconds followed by a click. I replaced the start relay and overload but the buzzing continues, all seems normal including...

This is usually a sound coming from the ice maker solenoid. It will buzz while it is energized and letting water fill the tray up and then you will usually hear a clicking sound when it is cutoff and the water is stopped. Sometimes if the water line on the back of the unit is not secured properly you will hear various sounds as the water is suddenly stopped and the line moves around, like a garden hose does.

APC back-ups es500 alarm continuously sounds why we power it off and alarm stops everything works fine then we power it back on and alarms sounds again

It means it has an internal fault. if still under warranty period, just call APC and ask for replacement. if it out of warranty bring it to service center or better if you have to buy a new one because as far as i am concerned repair cost of this unit is much expensive than a new unit
