SOURCE: Date/Time Set Won't Work

Write to Canon's customer service. I dropped my camera in water briefly and wrote them. They offered me the chance to replace my camera at an outstanding price or have it repaired. Give them a try!

SOURCE: Canon A470

There is another battery next the the AA battery under a little cover marked CR1220. That is the battery size. If that battery is dead, or has never been installed then every time you change the AA batteries the camera will forget the time and date. Try to get one from a specialty store that turns over its inventory quickly and you may find that you will only change this battery every 2 or 3 years.

SOURCE: says date/time not set but wont let me set the time or date!

Broken keypad ribbon. It's because the keypad ribbon is folded over twice and the creases split over time. have a look at my tips page for this problem. It won't help you much I know and the only solution is a replacement membrane.

Hi Keith, The link below is the user manual for the Pentax Optio E30 Digital Camera, On page 56 it says
• In Green Mode, you cannot change the information displayed on the LCD monitor by pressing the 4/W button.
• You cannot use the [A Rec. Mode] menu or Capture Mode Palette in Green Mode. If you try to display the [A Rec. Mode] menu or Capture Mode Palette, - (key lock icon) appears.
• If you switched to Q mode from Green Mode, you cannot display the [H Setting] menu by pressing the 3 button. If you try to display the [H Setting] menu, - (key lock icon) appears.
• When the camera is turned off in the Green Mode, it turns on in the Green Mode next time the power switch is pressed.

How do I connect my K7 to a 1394 socket

Hi,

Your Pentax K7 lacks firewire (1394) connectivity, so a connection to a fireware jack will not be possible without purchasing an inexpensive Firewire to USB adapter . From the manual:

Available Ports:

  • USB 2.0 hi-speed, AV out, HDMI out, DC in, cable switch, 3.5mm stereo microphone.
  • Video out: HD (1080i30, 720p30, 480p30), NTSC, PAL
  • Printer interfaces: n/a

You can connect a USB cable from the "PC/AV" on the camera to your computer's USB port with an appropriate cable to transfer image files for editing, etc. Additionally, you can send video directly to a TV with an appropriate cable via the camera's HDMI jack.

I hope this helps!

What is the best to manjually use all the setting of my Pentax K7?

The K7 is such a complex camera that it would be impossible to explain what to do without writing you a book. As it happens, there is a book that explains in detail, every feature of the camera. It's called the "Magic Lantern Guide" Pentax K7. If you Google "magic lantern guides" it will take you to the site where you can order the book.

Please help. Want to buy a Pentax K7, will these lenses work. Pentax-F Fish-eye 1:3.5-4.5 17-28 TAMRON AF 70-300 1:4-5.6 LD Tele-Macro 1:2 Sigma APO 170-500 1:5-6.3 My exist camera is a Pentax MZ-50

yes they will, I have a 70-300 myself.

As a rule, ANY k-mount lens will work on any of the new pentax cameras to some extent.

At any rate you can shoot some very nice pic with even the oldest lenses. Manually ofcourse.

With an adapter you can even use m42 screw lenses too.

Can't change date or time on my new Pentax K2000

Date/time are set at "first use" or through the tools menu.
Remove the batteries.  Leave the camera overnight, this may be enough to lose the current settings and allow setting new date/time.
Press Menu button.
Press right arrow on the 4-way controller to get the Tools (spanner) highlighted.
Press down arrow to get to date (or time).
Press right arrow
Now set to your preferred format.

If this does not work, try changing another item in the Tools menu.  If that change is not accepted, then it's into the dealer.

If you set the date during Green mode is on, then it will be reset. Turn the Green mode off first, then set the date.
