SOURCE: Have a blown vintage polk

It measures in at just under 4 ohms, so assume a 4 ohm speaker. You can replace this with any number of similar subs, using perennial DIY favorite PartsExpress, there are two under $30 that would meet your needs (Dayton SD215-88 and Goldwood GW408). Looks like they both have dual 8 ohm coils, so you would simply wire them in parallel for your application.

Have jvc rx-2020v receiver with mono rca out for sub and trying to hook it up with polk audio rm 1000 w sub woofer with +/- terminals for both left ane right channels plus blue terminal(?). How to?

Your Polk Audio subwoofer is a passive sub and your JVC mono output is for connection to a powered sub. If the JVC does not have an amplified output for a passive sub, you'll either need to get an amplified sub, a different receiver, or buy a dedicated mono subwoofer amplifier.

Have a polk psw50 with a bad driver( voice coil drags) looking for a good replacement or having it reconed. Have emailed Polk, no response yet. Any recommendations?

You might get luckier than me at tapping it with a hammer. I ended up ordering a replacement from Parts Express. 8 inch, 4 ohm subwoofer, pick something in your price range, but don't go crazy. Many of the current subwoofers have dual 8 ohm coils. If you get one, connect the coils in parallel.

No sound comes out of the subwoofer. Sound passes through and the power light is on, but no subwoofer sound. Any ideas? Fuse? Easy fix? Can this subwoofer be replaced? is it still available? Can I buy a...

this may be a dumb question but have you turned up the signal. there should be a dial on the back that you can turn the power up. power light on, signal passing threw, the only other thing it can be is the built in amp itself may be dead.

Best hook- up Polk psw10 sub woofer to yamaha rx-v663 receiver

You will not need to y connect your subwoofer, if you have only one RCA sub out on your receiver the other end of the RCA connector cable goes into the left input on most powered subs, there is no loss of signal, the option exist as some receiver do sport a double RCA sub out.
