Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC28. If it doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, it's possible that there's a blockage in the system, and you may need to give the filters a wash. The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

Under normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without any detergents, and ensure the filters are totally dry before replacing them - this may take up to 24 hours.
