Turn the volume down to less than half.
Try each of the input select switches, and make sure the monitor switch is in the proper position,
If you have not used this stereo before, make sure the jumpers are connected on the back of the unit from PRE OUT to MAIN IN.
(If it was working OK and now it is not, the connectors on the back are fine..)

    Thanks, those jumpers were missing.

SOURCE: Technics SU-V2 keeps cutting out

An amp will cut out if the output protection circuit kicks in. This circuit compares output power against the preset level. Each channel has it's own, independent protector. There are calculations that can be done, but for a novice the rule of thumb is to "never use a speaker with a power rating less than the amp AND a lower impedance than stated". Typically using a 4 ohm load on a 8 ohm system is inviting disaster. Even if the system does not become a smoke generator, you might notice that though "louder", the sound quality is deteriorated. Many "audiophiles" often hook up some combinations of speakers to have "surround" without really understanding that the collective impedance actually changes (generally lowers).

SOURCE: amp cuts out

The fan is ageing and putting noise on the protect line. Replace it or put a 100 uf cap across the fan at the plug. Beware polarity is marked wrong on p.c.b.

SOURCE: Technics SH-AC300 Connection to Power Amp & Pre-Amp

Hi!
The problem is, that your SH-AC300 needs an amp with 5.1 input (but no decoder). For this purpose technics delivered SA-AX710.
So if you'd like to use your current equipment it would be impossible.
The only option is for you to buy 2 more Power Amps (SE-A900S), so that each of 3 amps would take care for one part of music. (one for FL, FR; one for RL, RR; and one for sub and center).
Another option is for you to buy SA-AX710. Then all the problems would be solved with it.

I have a technics su x911 linked to ars x911 and a sl pj26a and a st x 933l tuner and turntable, they are all linked to each other as is typical however, I can turn the amp on,the red light shows on and everything else will work but not the amp.there is no led display and no vulume control.

the set has not been used for many years but has been kept clean and dry.
do they have to be connected in a certain order, the remote control doesnt seem to make any difference.

Technics separates issue?

That sounds suspiciously like an issue with speaker connections rather than amp output!

There are manuals and specs here including a Service Manual

Technics su-g50 amp left speaker cuts out

Make sure you are using the correct size Philips, probably #2 not #1(I have taken apart thousands of pieces of audio equipment and with the correct tool and a little elbow grease...). Then as far as cutting out, check to see if any of the potentiometers(A.K.A.: pots) are scratchy(volume, tone controls, etc) also the RCA jacks and speaker connections. A little WD-40 or fader lube works wonders on dirty pots and jacks Then look internally for poor or cracked solder joints. You can use the back end of a plastic pen to lightly tap components and lightly flex the board to narrow down the bad solder joint or poor internal connection. Do this while playing music or download a Tone Generator app and hook your mobile phone to one of the inputs (i.e. front panel, or CD). Tone generator set to 0.2V @ 1kHz works fine and turn the receiver volume up enough to hear the tone. Then start troubleshooting... Don't forget there is 120 volts AC inside as well as a lower DC voltage that you need to be concerned about and the large filter caps stay charged for normally a short while after being shut off. On newer audio equipment with switching supplies that DC voltage can be in the hundreds of volts but not in your case. Hope this helps!

Hi, i got a amplfier technics su-g50 i dont have the remote control he's stock on mute what can i do to erase the mute on his screen.

This posting is very old but the answers unhelpful so I thought I'd chime in. I have the same receiver and there is not mute button on the front panel, nor does the volume do anything. Put it on, select the tape or other aux. input. Press and hold the Phono button for several seconds and the mute light should go off and the volume get much louder.
