I have a Samsung UN46FH6030, tv turns on normally, after a second they screen dims down, it stills have audio and video, but it is a dark screen, I've seen youtube videos some are saying it is the main board or the led strips, I hate to invest in all the senerios, I believe more likely it is the led strips, I found on ebay some replacements for about $60, before I buy them I would like to see if this is the problem any suggestions, thank you for your time

Do you have a volt meter and some electronics knowledge?...your going to need to take a couple voltage measurements to know what the issue is, unless you're able to do that take it in for service as you could spend a lot of money and still not have a working TV...LED lamps would be a likely cause but most the time they don't start out ok then go dim, they don't work at all or there is a very dim picture all the time.

Excellent visual acuity technique!! I try to teach that procedure.

IC F6629B is probably shorted and at least one other part will

be open, possibly a zener diode,a fuse,a resistor or combo.

The service diagram would help.Be sure to use OEM first quality

parts.Let me know if you need more help.

SOURCE: sound but no video HPT5054 Samsung

One of your transformers on the inverter board are failing to sustain regulated power to the florescent lamps resulting in a dark picture. Also check the SMD fuses on the inverter board(s) see if they have blown. You will need a continuity meter to check them. You can get one from radio shack and be sure to get one with audible sound....you don't have to replace boards when you can fix them.

To solve this type of problem, you need a piece of white chalk. Draw a line around the area where the set is at. Call a priest - and lay the poor thing to rest!!!! This isn't the first time Samsung has "dropped" junk onto its' customers. Their dvd players also had problems with their DSP I.C.s that would over heat and cause the video playbacks to "break up". Don't waste any more time or money on the product!!!!!

Samsung TV backlight is very dim on LN40B530P7N Television

Check if the sensor of the ambient light in the room is dirty (bottom of TV). If so, the TV thinks its playing in a dark room and so sets the screen to dim.

If that doesn't improve things, turn a flashlight on the sensor to fool it into thinking its a brighter room.

Television screen turns dark

A lot of these smart televisions have an autoset configuration where you can go in and set it to auto dim when the outside ambient light changes. It can also be put on a timer. Saying it is at random may be because of both of these features being active at the same time. I would go into the settings and check these settings.

Lastly, the signal you are receiving can change which can cause the auto dim to kick in.

If this does not resolve you issue, you may have a back light going out and I would recommend taking it to a reputable repair shop for evaluation.

Hope this helps.

Our samsung smart tv screen goes dark at nightfall. We have to open the blinds to let light in to get the screen normal again. Is there some kind of setting I can set to stop this from happening?

It is there. Designed to have a brighter picture during the day and dim it in the evening. Have different names for the feature.

Check your manual out for it.

Should I fix my TV or buy anew one?

Before you buy a new TV go through all the TV menu options to see if it has automatic dimming depending on the amount of light in the room. If it does it may be malfunctioning and turning that feature off may fix the problem.

Screen is black, but still getting audio

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

My samsung 940b it has a clear bright screen ( as normal ) just for 2 seconds then the screen turns dark but you can see very very dim Window logo.Turn off the power ( does not matter for how long ) when...

Shine a flash light onto the monitor, if you can see icons/desktopon the screen then you know you need a new monitor!
You should be covered under warranty!
