When I power the tv on the standby light will flash a few times then go out, but no picture. When I push the power button again, the standby light flickers. I've unplugged the tv and plugged it back in. The standby light comes on solid. Pushed the power button again and got same result. Took the panel off the back, no obvious damage to main and power board, except for some browning on the power board, assumed from heat.
Hello ? Is there any sound?
Yes, it was coming through my sound bar, but that was plugged into the tv.
Paul, the first thing would be to look at the power supply {power board} are you able to trouble shoot?
I looked at it yesterday and didn’t see any apparent damage. Just some browning on the actual board from heat.
In that case, the best way forward would be to power the board and use a multi-meter to take all output voltages. It would be wise to dismantle the power supply board from the main mother board. If you check there is a connector cable with about 20 wires that connects to the main board. Look at the back side of where this connector cable originates from on the power board and you will see voltages indicated. Power the board and see if the voltages are available.
Ok, so I replaced the power supply board and the backlights. It seemed to solve the problem of no picture, but now there is a new problem. Half the picture (on the right side of the tv) is darker than the left side. I've attached a photo for reference; note I have the tv upside down in the picture. All the backlights appear to be on; I've attached a picture of the back of the tv as well to show the new backlights functioning. I thought maybe there was a problem with the ribbon connectors that I had to remove from the buffer boards while replacing the backlights, so I swapped the left and right ribbons, but still got the same problem. Not sure where I should go from here?
Paul, Kindly check if you have connected the main cable that connects main mother board to the screen. If that is good then, kindly look for any lose connection and alert me. At times when we do repairs we forget very small details because of the curiosity and end up messing up.
Another issue buddy could be the T-CON.
