I appreciate your DIY effort. Were you sure of power supply board being bad? From what you have mentioned, the main board seems to be bad. Because if the power board is good, the set will not power on unless it receives the power on command from the main board.
One more thing, in most of the Samsung sets on disconnecting power supply and main board, If you get the backlights, power supply board is OK and the main board is bad. Please try this. Good luck.
Did you repair the power on power off switch I think that would be the only item needing replacing I once had this same issue and went replacing the power supply board Mine ended up only needing the power switch replaced so I got to return the board and put the old one in Usually if you give the old board up when buying a new one a generous amount of money is taken off the new board price and this is done for any and all boards I have ever replaced in any item I would try to see if you fixed the issue with your new board if not try the power switch that should fix the problem for less money
Power supply board have problems,just not dead yet.Replaced the power supply board,will solved this problems.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement. Hope this help in solving the problem
