SOURCE: one channel not working onkyo tx-sr04

You might have to take a look into the unit, there could be some damage or a bad solder connection on the front left speaker connector at the circuit board, possibly also on any other component (power amp chip / transistors, internal connectors, etc.), also loose or broken wires or oxydized connector contacts inside the unit.

It could be something else as well, but i guess it's worth checking the above mentioned.

Hope you can fix it

regards

What is the problem of my Onkyo TX-SR505, front left speaker s not working

Bad contact of RL6600. You can exchange RL6600 with RL6603. (Unplug the amp. Remove RL6600 and install RL6603)Left and right speakers will get sound while RL6600 won't . Problem is RL6600. Download TX-SR505 service manual and see P.44. If You can open RL6600, remove black oxide on 4 contacts of RL6600. Problem can be fixed.9_20_2018_3_09_00_am.jpgreplace rl6600. jpg-4diogeuslvtkcz4lzwvicesi-4-2.jpg

TX-SR504 receiver won't turn on

Had same on an ONKYO TX-505 given to me for repair - eventually found a broken track on top circuit board that came from a transistor that control the main power on relay - looked like it was burnt off for a section of about 1.2mm

Repaired the track and has worked ever since

good luck WTech/Townsville

Do all speakers need to have the same impedance? (Protect mode)

Amplifiers sometimes like to have "balanced loads" on them, and this may be the case with your unit, meaning yes, all the impedances should match.

Judging by the impedance numbers you provided, you should be all set. You really want to avoid having something like 2 ohms on the left side and 8 ohms on the right side - grossly imbalanced. I don't see any problems with what you're going to run.
