Barbara, it sound like you may have an actuator motor that is shorted, here how to check it. On the front axle you will see a motor assembly with wiring and connector. Unplug that connector and leave it off, then try to put it into 4 wheel drive. If it doesn't blow the fuse then you know its a shorted actuator motor. Two screws located on steering wheel back to remove horn assembly to expose steering wheel locknut to remove and then use steering wheel puller to remove the st wheel and expose switch.
steps required to remove and replace indicator switch assembly.
1.disconnect the battery earth lead.
2.from the rear of the steering wheel remove the screws retaining the horn pad..
3.lift the horn assembly away from the steering wheel far enough to remove wiring.
4.Once that is done then move to the next step.
5.Remove the locknut and steering wheel nut .
6.then mark the end of the steering shaft and the steering wheel to correctly relocate and install in same position.
7.then with the correct tool remove the steering wheel from shaft.
8.then once the steering wheel is removed you can then move on to removing the lower steering column cover screw and then remove cover.
9.disconnect the wiring from the multi point connector under instrument panel.
10.release and free wiring harness.
11.unscrew and remove the hazard switch knob.
12.remove the dipper-wiper switch securing screw and manoeurve the switch upwards.guiding the wiring through the column.
13.you will actual find there are 3 phillip head screws securing the switch to lever switch to the combination switch.
14.when putting this assembly back to together just follow these steps in reverse..

Remove the glove box assembly, lower right side instrument panel trim cover and right cowl trim panel, as required. Disconnect the blower lead wire connector.
If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, disconnect the 2 vacuum lines from the recirculating door actuator and position the actuator aside.

Remove the 2 screws at the top of the blower housing that secure it to the unit cover.
Remove the 5 screws from around the blower housing and separate the blower housing from the unit.
Remove the 3 screws that secure the blower assembly to the heater or air conditioning housing and remove the assembly from the unit. Remove the fan from the blower motor by removing the spring-type retaining ring from the center of the blower wheel. Note the location of the fan-to-blower motor assembly for correct installation.

indoor fan gets signal from tstat. Move fan switch at tstat to on position still no fan. Pull tstat loose to expose wires and jump electrical from R teminal to G terminal. Still no fan go to the unit and jump samecolor wires at the R & G terminals fan works then bad tstat wire. Also feel the motor if hot motor electical windings may be open on internal thermal overload. Try to spin wheel be hand if does not spin free needs motor
