I have a black fossil watch that needs a new battery. On the back, it has the letters and numbers of FS 4605 251203. It also has All Stainless Steel 5 ATM. Please advise.

You need a watch wrench to open the case back without damaging it. Best to have a jewelry shop change the battery for you. They will often do so for just the cost of the battery.

There is nothing wrong with your watch. The problem is in tools the jewellers are using for opening the watch.
Despite being under one roof, watchmaking and jewellery are completely different trades and are miles apart. Jewellers usually are equipped with very basic watch repair tools and the case openers are no exeption.
You have to find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for watchmaker, not jeweller. Any decent watchmaker will have the right tool to open your watch and replace the battery in a matter of minutes.

SOURCE: I need extra links for my fossil BQ-8792 watch.

Go the Fossil website - http://www.fossil.com. There is a link at the bottom of the page, Customer Care. Clock on that link. On the left there will be a menu item under Product Info that says "ordering links and bands". There is a paragraph titled "Order Links". There is an 800 number to call and they will send you two links just for shipping or if you need more than 2 links, it's $3 per link.

SOURCE: umm..mine is called.."FOSSIL 10 ATM" there's

10 ATM means that the watch is water resistant to 10 atmosphere's of pressure.
Long story short, yes you can swim with it. Yes, you can shower with it too.

SOURCE: Fossil watch battery

It is a 364 battery. You can order these online from many battery outlets, even ebay.If your watch is 5ATM or more, it has a pressure seal, and you might want to send it to the Fossil service centre to have it changed and resealed.

How do u open back to fix an fossil black 5 atm fs-4351 hand watch

Jerry, If its smooth on the back cover, you have to pry it off carefully. Get a magnifying glass and look around the cover edge, there should be a small under cut. Pry at this point with a penknife blade or similar. If the cover has 6 or 8 small indentations in it then it likely unscrews but you may still need to see a watch shop for the tool to unscrew it.
Fossil watches have a 2 year warranty so if its inside this, take it to a dealer.

I don't have the original battery to my watch, and am looking for a replacement. The watch is a Fossil Arkitekt FS-3031

Thank you for contacting FixYa.

Unfortunately, unless it is stamped on the back of the watch, or it is in your manual, there is no way of knowing the battery that goes in any watch without the old one, or very accurate sizing of the area it goes in. How do I replace a battery on a kenneth cole watch and square fossil watch

Open watch case back, then release the metal contact covering the battery. Memorize battery's polarity (+ up and - down), then take the battery out. Memorize the combination of letters and numbers on battery (should be something like: CR 3216 or similar). Make does not matter - Seiko is as good as Maxell, Panasonic2_bing.gif and other reputable makes. Buy new battery with identical combination of letters and numbers and put in your watch. Replace back contact, gasket and case back. Set your watch and enjoy. Rate me, please.
