Kenwood model kr5090 audio format detection does not work all the time
I have a kr 5090 kenwood reciever and i recently hooked up 2 surround speakers from previously using 2 front speakers with no problem. now that i hooked up the surround speakers and gone through all the setup, i hooked a fiber optic cable from a ps4 to the reciever for it not to detect the dolby digital. Now after being stumpted i turned off the reciever to see in the morning when i turned it on that it detected the dolby digital until i changed the input or messed with speaker settings. any clues?
make sure that the the DVD setting on your reciever is set to look for the the fiber connection (if it is not looking at the coorect input it will not work)

If the B speakers on your Kenwood KR-V8010 receiver are not working while the A speakers are working, there are a few things you can check:
Check the speaker connections: Make sure that the B speakers are connected to the receiver properly. Ensure that the speaker wires are connected securely and that the polarity is correct.
Check the speaker selector switch: The Kenwood KR-V8010 has a speaker selector switch that allows you to choose between A speakers, B speakers, or both. Make sure that the switch is set to the B speaker position.
Check the speaker impedance: Make sure that the impedance of the B speakers is compatible with the receiver. The Kenwood KR-V8010 supports speakers with an impedance of 4 to 16 ohms. If the impedance of the B speakers is too low or too high, it can cause issues with the amplifier.
Check the volume level: Make sure that the volume level is not set too low for the B speakers. If the volume level is too low, it may not be noticeable that the B speakers are not working.
Check the output settings: The Kenwood KR-V8010 has a few output settings that can affect the sound output. Make sure that the settings for the B speakers are not muted or turned off.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the amplifier or the B speaker output circuit. In this case, it may be necessary to take the receiver to a professional for repair or maintenance.
You may need a repair on this tuner but a simple test you can perform is to hook up another set of speakers or even just one different speaker. Test and if you get volume it is your speakers.
Granted this is highly unlikely that you blew both speakers at the same time but it is worth testing. If the test does not change anything then you should get your KR-A4030 repaired.
If the speakers used to switch off when the headphone plug was put in the socket, suspect the socket it goes into as being the trouble. It is clearly not connecting the speakers, when the headphone plug is removed.
If you don't get sound in "Simulated" mode then you have probably lost the surround channels.
If you do get sound then your "Media" is not recorded with a surround "Track". or the surround "Processor" may have issues that need to go to the repair shop.
Surround is not carried on analog audio cables. Have you looked at the unidentified BluRay manual? What's a bose 10 3series? Have you looked at ITS manual - try Bose.com to find it.
Maybe hook up the actual source of the TV audio (not necessarily the TV) directly to the Kenwood. Cable and SAT boxes have nice standard digital audio outputs. They're wasted on TV's which typically have sucko speakers. Lower-end analog audio is also available if you want to watch Cable/SAT throught the TV speakers.
1st try a test tone to the rear speakers. If you can not get a test tone check the connections again.. once you get a test tone, use the "mode" button on your remote to cycle through the surround modes and make sure you are in a surround mode rather than a stereo mode.
If you are connecting a 5.1 surrround sound rather than 7.1, have you connected the surround speakers to the surround left and surround right rather than surround back left and surround back right?
