Check if the channel is off-the-air due to an issue at the transmitter. After a severe storms, some local stations lost their transmitter because the tower fell. More often, the transmitter hardware can fail. One station repeater near me had an interesting period where it didn't get the incoming signal from the primary transmitter.
Check that your antenna hasn't shifted to point away from the transmitter. Reposition the antenna, if needed. If you have an amplifier on your antenna, check if that has been damaged. If it has been damaged, replace it. My household found that the antenna/splitter became a filter for one VHF channel when damaged by a lightning strike. The check was to connect the antenna to one TV without the amplifier.
The other common issue is interference. Has there been construction in your area that added a large building between you and the transmitter?
I got this free Pdf manual from an online store for free and I don't think Ive visited a mechanic or fixya for help for more than 3-4 times out of the all the times I fixed the chipper in these 4 years
If you are getting an OTA signal, you should check your antenna, any amplifier or splitter and the station's status. The "No signal" message indicates that the signal is not strong enough to be resolved by the tuner.
1) Is your antenna pointing in the correct direction? Outdoor antennas can sometimes turn in the wind. Reset the antenna to the correct direction.
2) If you have a splitter dividing the signal between TVs or other devices, try a direct connection to the one TV that isn't receiving the channel. Similarly, if you have an amplifier in the system, try using the antenna without it. (I have seen an amplifier become a filter for select channels when damaged.) The only solution is to replace the device or omit it. (In my case, some channels require amplification; thus we replaced the amplifier.)
3) Has the station's local transmitter/repeater been damaged? Check their news feed. Towers fall and transmitter components can fail.
You could try and see if another tuner picks up the signal. Some low end tuners are more sensitive to signal strength. If you are getting the station from another source, check with the provider. We recently lost some of the local PBS stations due to problems with the cable provider's feed. Only one TV is connected to the set top box.
Your GPS transceiver(Transmitter/reciever) is not working. It is either obstructed by a metal plate or any part of your vehicle or the cone where the signal is detected is disconnected from the circuit board.Try relocating the unit to where there is no obstruction(any metal). If this does not work it needs servicing. The transceiver is usually located on the middle top side of the unit.It is the antenna where the GPS satellite signal is recieved.
If the signal to noise ratio is low, the GPS may have a bad antenna, cable connection or a defective antenna.
If you have performed a cold start (i.e. changed the backup batterie)
you have to wait for 2-3 hours until der GPS has downloaded the
almanach information.
I believe in your location it comes as an option. transmitter is an optional module. You can browse the user manual at following link (PDF file) http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/1262_OwnersManual.pdf You can see at 35th page, simple instructions have been given for FM transmitter settings.
If it doesn't work please contact to the Manufacturer. I couldn't find Garmin's Ireland number. However you may call UK number +44-870-8501242. Or simple you call your reseller.
