SOURCE: i bought a nice jensen

If this is an old set then it is possible that the optical head is weak, the servo is faulty or the mechanism is jammed.
So open and clean head, check to see if the optical head moves well into the mechanism if not clean the gears.
If none of these work the optical head is faulty.
replace with correct procedure.

If you bought this new, I strongly suggest taking it back. There are no servicable parts inside and taking it apart will void warranty

Jody, the arm the needle is on, usually adjustable with a dial on the end that can lighten, or put more weight on needle to help it track better on records. Other then that, the belts normally are changed to address slow speed issues. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

I bought a nice jensen home audio system with 3 cd changer belt drive turntable and dual cassette. When i got it home i tried to play a cd and it wont read any cd past track 7 please help

The cd door is stuck as if a cd is out of place. Won't open enough to see the problem.
Before, when trying to see the problem, I clicked "skip" to see if it would go through all the discs. It did, but still wouldn't open the door. Later, I clicked "play" each time, then "skip", and after going through all 5 discs, the door opened. Go figure.

My rca rs 2657 cd changer is stuck. door will not open. any ideas how to correct?
If you hit the open button and you hear a sound like a motor running than it is most likely a belt or connection that physically opens the tray. You'll have to take it apart, locate the cd player and check from there. If no sound of a motor running when the button is pushed then the motor is probably bad.

I have a memorex stereo, turntable, 3 cd changer etc. The standby light comes on but no sound, it is only 2 yrs old..
Sometimes you have to unplug it for about 30 seconds, then when you plug it in press the power on button. If there is still no sound, check the speaker connections on the back they sometimes come loose.

Cd changer malfunction
I know that this sounds like a crazy solution to Pitsy`s CD problem but today i took a chance by using my lawn gas blower. First I opened the drawers of my CD turntable and also my cassett doors. I put ear plugs on and blasted the air into the openings. All i can say is it is now working fine !! Lou F.
