Step 1. When the second hand re a ches 12 o ’ clock (the zero or 60th second mark ) , pull the crown all the way to the “OUT ”position (you will hear two “ cl i ck s ” ) .All hands will stop.

Step 2. Turn the crown to move hands FORWARD (clockwise) until you see the date (for date only) or both day and date change. This establishes midnight, t h e b e ginning of the day.

Step 3. For A.M .time, continue to move hands forward until the minute hand is approxim a t e ly 5 minutes beyond the desired minute marker ;then ,gently turn b a ck to the same marke r. For P. M .time , follow the same procedure ,but first a dvance  the hands past 12 o’clock .

N O T E : The date will advance automatically at midnight, p rovided that A . M .a n d P. Step 4. When the time standard by which you are setting your wa t ch ( e.g.,telephone beep) re a ches the 60th second, push the crown all the way to the “ I N ”position . All hands will start instantly.

Step 5. Pull the crown to the “ I N T E R M E D I AT E ”position (one “ cl i ck ” ) . Your watch will continue to tell time. S l ow ly turn crown one way until the correct date a p p e a rs .Then for day/date models, s l ow ly turn crown the other way until the correct day appears .

N O T E : The day is printed in two successive positions on the day indicator: i n English and in Spanish on U. S .m o d e l s ; in English and in Fre n ch on Canadian mode l s It is possible to make use of either position. The display will automatically re m a i n in the language ch o s e n .
The date should never be ch a n ged manu a l ly between 9:00 P. M . and 3:00 A . M .a s this might affect the calendar mechanism and the accuracy of the date. ( Theme chanism will not be damaged if the crown is turned accidentally during this

Battery size for bulova 98g48

If there is a dead battery in the watch, when it is opened, that is one way to identify the battery size.

A second way, if no battery left in it, is to go to a local jeweler or watch battery replacement kiosk at the shopping mall.

Third, contact Bulova at phone number shown:

Wich battery number may i use in this watch bulova 96t63 ??thanks

cant see that model watch on the Bulova web site user manuals

if unsure if it needs a battery go to a jeweler or watch or battery seller

some model Bulova Watched instructions
IF YOUR NEW WATCH IS A MECHANICAL WATCH
(no battery)
Mechanical watches differ from Quartz watches in several
respects:
1. No battery changes are needed - they are powered by a main-
spring, which is wound either by wrist movement; or in some
models by daily winding of the setting crown.
2. Because it is a mechanical device, it's accuracy is subject to
the effects of gravity and temperature. You can expect, on the
average, a daily variance of up to 10 to 20 seconds for
mechanical watches.
3. Just like automobiles, these watches require routine mainte-
nance. Due to their mechanical complexity, mechanical
watches require cleaning and new lubrication every 3 to 5
years to run at optimum efficiency.
FOR THE AUTOMATIC SELF-WINDING
MECHANICAL WATCH
it must be wound at least six or seven times before you wear it.
After that, your daily activity should wind the watch sufficiently
to keep it running at night when it is not being worn. If your
normal daily activity is not sufficient, occasional supplementary
manual winding may be necessary. It is suggested that your
mechanical watch be cleaned and oiled periodically to insure
optimum performance. As a mechanical watch, quartz watch
accuracy cannot be expected. References to the power cell do
not apply to Automatic watches

I have a vintage Bulova watch that I'm trying to date: No. On face is 23 Number on back of case is 312171 I would appreciate any help.

Bulova began using a series of codes in the late 40's to date watches, look on your case for a letter followed by a number, the letter designates the decade,A=40's,L=50's,M=60's,.N=70's,P=80's,T=90's and the following number designates the year, an example would be,M4 would indicate 1964. Hope this helps, the serial numbers are used for identification purposes only

Bulova stailess steel 16 Diamond Bezel Chronograph Watch discolored on raised part of bezel like the metal is turning brown?

You can try a polishing cloth to see if this removes the discoloration, or very gently brush it with a toothbrush and mild soap ( very little water) if this does not help you will need to send the watch back to Bulova to their service center. 1-800-228-5682 is the Bulova service center phone number, call them for further instructions. Sometimes the discoloration is caused by certain chemicals found in lotions, soaps and cleaners. Hope this helps! thank you!

How do you set the times and date on this watch?

Go to http://www.bulova.com/brands/bulova/bulova.aspx?brand=bulova#coll_id=30&coll_name=Marine Star&gender=1 and you will see a list of the current models. I could not find yours among them but since they are all bacially the same watch, you should be able to find one that is similar to yours.

Click on the watch illustration and you will see a link to operating instructions, which you can download.

I havent worn this watch for about a year the battery has 10 year warranty and was working fine.now it has stopped working.

A few watch companies...Bulova being one of them used to give a 10 year warranty but I dont know of any batteries that actually last 10 years! The average life of a 1.5 volt silver oxide battery is 2-3 years (sometimes a smidge longer) depending on the age and condition of the watch. A 3 volt lithium battery will get on average 3-4 years.

Im guessing that your battery is probably dead! :-)
