My sears garden tractor has lost it's zip but still goes forward and back also noticed my brake no-longer as effective

Sounds like you need to adjust some cables. Consult your owner's manual. I will also suggest that you give it a new fuel filter, air filter and burn nothing else in it but high test gas. Lastly, put a good gas additive in each tankful - a couple capfuls of Sea Foam or equivalent.

On the sears site the brake band is part number Brake band PART NUMBER: 634A167

Substitution: 101230K . The band is number 17 on the parts diagram. You'll find it on the rear left side. If the band is in good shape ,it can be adjusted by turning the turnbuckle on the brake rod.

I'm having the same problem on a 200 and have narrowed it down to belt slippage. Problem is I replaced both pulley's and belt with Sears parts and made it worse. You can pull back on the brake/clutch pedal and it doesn't slip but there is no adjustment I can find. ANYONE got a CLUE

It will not go into reverse

The mechanism that takes the tractor from forward to reverse and back is called the linkage. It is adjustable and it sounds like your needs adjustment. If you are mechanically inclined and have the tools you can adjust the linkage your self, or you could call Sears/craftsman at 1-800-4MY-HOME will get a tech out to your house to adjust the linkage.
