Why the remote will not work for the coby tv? I just got it from Amazon.

Step 1- open the DVD tray Step 2- Press the "MENU" button on the remote control Step 3- Press" 8888" Step 4- Press the " DISPLAY" button Step 5- Select your region. I would suggest enter " 0", this will make it a all region player. Step 6- Press the " SETUP button to exit.

1. Turn on your TV. 2.Press & hold the TV Mode button until all Mode buttons        light up. 3.Press red power button 4.Press the UP ARROW repeatedly (about 1 press per second) until your TV turns off. 5.Press # POUND The TV Mode button will flash three        times. 6. Press the POWER button to turn the TV on and try other buttons to make sure the code works. If you want to try another code, start over from step 1.

In looking at the manual no codes are given for the Coby brand TV. If the above process does not work, you'll have to call DishNetwork for further assistance. It may be that the remote will not work for your TV.

I gave up with trying to deal with this Coby tv I had recently bought and returned it today for a Panasonic that can be easily programmed for my AT&T uverse system. However...I WAS able to learn 2 actual Coby codes that may work for others: 1091 and 1124. Believe me...I could not get either one of those codes to work for me...but good luck to someone else!!
