SOURCE: alpine 7835 display lights not working, everything else is fine

if it's not under warranty, I would advise taking the face plate apart and checking for burned spots on the board and using compressed air to remove anything that is conductive that may cause a short in the face plate. The face plate should be really easy to take apart.

SOURCE: Kenwood KRC -X858 Faceplate/Power Problem

I have the exact same problem. I called the tech line and the tech reported that the ribbon cable is probably broke. It is the flex cable between the head unit and the rotating face plate. He said it's not an expensive fix but we would need to mail it to a service center if you're like me and not near one. I just replaced mine with a new unit. It was about time anyways.

No sound rom the speakers. removed radio and checked wiring harness and checked the fuse under the hood and they are all ok. what can I check next?

These units are prone to problems... get a good aftermarket one from Crutchfield on-line with the faceplate adapter... it will be easy to install and look factory.

2002 intrepid 2.7 Im getting no crank from the starter and I dont hear the fuel pump kicking on when the ignition key is turned on, I do get power to the radio and dash, Ive checked fuses and replaced...

Under the hood, there should be a fuse block. Remove the cover and there will be a 20amp(i think) fuse that protects the fuel pump and starter circuit. I've run into this problem many times and every time it ends up being the starter that blows the fuse.

My display stays on for about 3 seconds then it turns off until

Hi there,
If this model has a detachable faceplate,
Remove the faceplate and clean down the contacts with metho and a cotton bud.
Over time usually corrosion and dirt etc builds up on these terminals making them loose cotact when you touch the faceplate.
This is the most commonly known problem alpine units.
Other common problems is the power supply failing /amplifier.
Hope this helps you out
Cheers
