How to unlock 1999 Mercury Sable with the only key in the ignition?

It is located on the keyless entry module located under the drivers side dash. There will be a five digit code on the side of the box facing the passenger side. Enter the code and it should unlock. Follow owners manual to change the code, it will store both codes at the same time and either should work.

I believe these are internal you must drop the trans. pan down to access it.

If it "RED" in color, like p/s fluid, and coming from the BOOT, then its your p/s rack assembly.The unit has to be replaced and alignment reset. ..also check the HOSES they are prone to leak also...hope this helped..GL
