Bad hdd,
run hdd tests
first is age, it's 5 years old.
it is the silly hidden main battery dead.
what do , first. is make sure time is correct in BIOS screens
and date, if that ok, the RTC coin cell my be good.
then look for the maintenance page in the BIOS, run the hDD test.
do that first. ok?
im RTM your manual, no hdd test i BIOS, (not a good maker this )
So then boot to linux, USB boot drive. run unbuntu v17,(free)
and run disk tests and smart tests on the HDD first.
if PC is dead , we unplug the battery inside.
the PRice of thin, is battery just dont drop out.
but a tech is never deterred here.
Indicates a failed hard drive and the chip has no connection to boot from
Check that the disk drive is fully connected.
This sounds like the hard disk boot sector is corrupted.
One needs to rebuild the MBR (Master Boot Record).
This can be done with a disk partition software on CD rom, from the
laptop.
If this is beyond you, take the laptop to a small pc shop/outfit (NOT pcworld!) and ask them to rebuild the MBR.
