SOURCE: I really NEED mbrwrdos.exe for my Acer!

Have you tried booting in safe mode? Repeatedly tap F8 while booting and you will beprompted asking if you want to enter safe mode then allow it to load;

Furthermore you could remove the Hard Drive and put it into another computer providing it is a matching connection with the other machine e.g. Sata - In the event it is a Hard Drive failure which by the description you have given is a distinct possibility you can send it to the manufacturer for data recovery.

I hope this was of some help ;)

SOURCE: i need a recovery disk for my laptop windows

Unfortunately the only way to get a recovery for any preloaded system is to contact the manufactuer of the product. IE if the unit is a Compaq you can contact Hewlett-Packard, must be the current company that owns the model and build. Compaq is now part of HP is the only reason for the example.

They will ask your model and serial. new discs may cost you to obtain but serial will give them the preloaded software information.

Outside of recovery discs, secondary option. Purchase a new operating system. expensive but does work as well.
Hope this helps.

Toshiba Factory Reset
1) If you have a recovery partition on the laptop - have a read here to see if you have one http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/outFrm.jsp?ofId=AskIris&searchString=recovery+to+factory 2) This link shows you how to use the partition http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2291088&pf=true basically as the PC boots TAP F8 key - from the menu that appears choose "repair your computer"
If that option is NOT available then you will need to Order CDs from Toshiba - http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/System-Recovery-and-Recovery/Recovery-media/m-p/9148#U9148

How do I factory reset my Laptop Compaq CQ62 WITHOUT A DISC?

what version of windows do you have? if it's windows seven try this.
1. turn off your computer.
2. press the power button to turn your computer on.
3. hit f11 a few times quickly, while the launch screen is still up. this will launch the recovery manager. (if you see the windows 7 boot logo, you've missed your chance and need to restart your computer and try again from step 2.)
4. on the left side it will say "i need help immediately". underneath that there will be an option that says "system recovery". click on that.
5. there will be an option to either back up your files before restoring, or to recover without backing up your files.
6. it will tell you to make sure all devices are disconnected from your computer. make sure they are, and then click "ok".
7. there will be a "welcome to the recovery manager" screen. click "next".
8. it will begin to reformat your partition and to reinstall the windows 7 setup files. once it's done doing that, click "next". you'll be brought to a page saying "recovery is complete". after that all you need to do is reboot, and it will bring you through the wizard to set up windows 7, just like on a new computer!

I have a gateway LT4004u laptop computer. I tried to restore it to the factory installation but didn't save all files first. Now when I try to start it up it says windows can't install on this...

You need to reinstall Windows on your laptop.
Use a computer that has a CD drive and copy the Windows installation CD to an USB memory stick.
To install Windows plug this memory stick with the Windows installation files into the USB port of your laptop then boot up your laptop and install Windows.

Problem with HP pavillion ze4900 harddrive. bios says no IDE device when trying to find hard drive.

Hello,

You can try to boot from CD/DVD drive with XP cd to see if the install program can find the hard drive. Try to use default setting in the BIOS.

Sounds to me like your hard drive crashed. I had one that did this and same thing. You can either replace the hard drive, use an external hard drive/flash drive (load the os and download laptop drivers) or use a cd based OS like Knoppix.

If you need help with the XP CD let me know.

I hope this helps!!!

Factory reset acer aspire 5315 gone wrong

I think you need to reload windows with a operating system disk. Most times the Factory Recovery discs don't work.

Get a windows operating system disk and just reload windows. The disk must match the Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker on the bottom of her laptop. In other words, don't use a Windows XP Home operating system disk if the COA sticker says Windows XP Professional or you'll never be able to activate windows.

First of al......Hi !! I will just go straight to the "point". I wanted to istal windows 7 on this laptop, and i get an message saying : ( cd/dvd drive driver missing ) and i have done an...

If you have wiped the old hard drive using the partition command there isn't much you can do if the cd drive will not work. The CD drive being a problem is common in this model HP laptop. I'm not sure that laptop will support Windows 7, you need to check the HP website and see if they offer a download for the drivers for that model for Windows 7, if not you may want to reconsider this change since Windows 7 will not work with Windows Vista drivers. If you did not repartition the hard drive then the recovery or factory installation is still present on the main hard drive. The drive was split into 2 drives. C: which you have always used and D: which holds all the recovery information and installation disk.

My laptop does not working and some windows file missing pls give me advise how to recovery my window

You need to have windows disk in oreder to repair or reinstall windows, IF you have it, insert it in drive and restart your computer and follow the instructions on the screen to install windows, if you are using HP or dell laptop then you must have the recovery disks from which you can do recovery, if you misplace it then you may get in touch with HP or DELL and they will provide you the set of recovery disk.
