I have a Viewsonic VE710b monitor. When I connect it to my computer and turn both on, the monitor shows a "No Signal" message. I've checked the connections and all are good. Is my monitor damaged?

the PC is dead. "no sig"= dead PC ok?
here is the reasons, and tests and causes.
no PC stated, so not detailed answers possible
i bet the monitor works on 2 or more other PC.
so if you hand done that simple test , you would have learned that first.
but the PC is dead. (silent is it?)
cable bad, VGA jack pins bent, ? no then PC bad.

First, I'm not a Viewsonic representative.
* Check your warranty. call for support.

*** Following for information only.***
* No signal means no usable signal for a specific input on the TV or monitor.
* If it's just a monitor and not a multi-function TV that also has a Computer to video input then you need to check the device that's hooked up to the monitor as single function monitor's usually only have one input.
* If this is a TV then you need to go to the TV menu and check the "Input Source" to make sure it's on the input plug your using. (I'm using HDMi-2 on my laptop to TV)
* If it's not on the correct input then there will be a different signal (DVD, VCR, etc.) or none at all (No Signal) if those units are turned off.
* Unplug all devices (to reset) and count to 10. Power up and perform set up to your existing configuration.
* Note; as of Jan 2018 most cable TV are not broadcasting in analog (chan 3) and must use a digital tuner to get signal. Some cable Co. provide converters (for a fee?)
* Check with your service provider for more information.
Aloha, ukeboy57

PS, If you do have a damaged input (or feed) then check your video device for alternative outputs; IE: RCA Vid-Right-Left audio, HDMI, Split video (Y-G-B), VGA, S-plug, etc.

its 13 years old today, and CCFL laps not burned out is rare. (most are )
all that to say PC is dead>? really?
this monitor has only ONE INPUT port
    VGA (yes)
    no hdmi (zero)
    no dvi
    no composite video or others.
so telling the OP to check things not there is over the top , bad.

    NO PC even stated,
not even laptop, disktop or notebook or tablet stated. not even the most tiny clue.
no the monitor is doing what is was designed to do and in this case. tell you the PC is dead.
no signal = PC DEAd OR CABle to it bad.

the PC if silent most are dead, expect the tiny cheap tablets, that have no fans.
when you SAY monitor we THINK desktop, ok.
and if you think that the there are 2 or more fans in all desktops. PSU and CPU fans for sure.
except $10,000 fan less Desktops super expensive.
OK so is the PC silent, please tell us.

no signal means PC is dead.
so are both fans dead in your DESKTOP PC
I'm assuming VGA monitor is connected to some unstated desktop , we can offer tests on that too.

    you have these choices
    1: get it repaired.
2: upgrade to newer PC , over 10 years old, advised.
3: ask now to do tests. (most are easy asK)
4: or ask the kids how to GUE$$?.

SOURCE: Screen goes to sleep after "no signal" message

If you do not move the mouse or press any key on the keyboard it could be just going into video power save. Confirm it by moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard. If the monitor comes back on, adjust the power settings in control panel and change the time for the "turn off display" to a more suitable setting.

SOURCE: Viewsonic VG2021m monitor no longer showing a picture

Hi!
there are possible reasons why your monitor shows nothing on your screen...

First, you need to check if the power cable of your monitor is well connected to a wall socket or AVR (and that you are sure there is supply output current on the AVR or in the wall outlet)

IF found that power cable is fix and secure... my suggestion is you bring the monitor to a credible technician...Because the possible reason why only black is seen on your screen, is because the backlight inverter could be busted already.. the backlight inverter which is located on the upper and lower back edge of the monitor is the light source responsible for giving image display of your lcd monitor.. Another reason could be is a deffective high voltage ballast transformer which is responsible for generating high votlage supply for the backlight....

It is too risky for you to do the repair by yourself without proper knowledge and right tools to do this.. So don't waste time consult a technician and or possible avail of the warranty if there is any...

Hope it is clear now to you..

Much appreciated if you rate this help.. thanks..

Where can I find the right driver to install a Viewsonic VE710b Flat Panel Monitor? I am running Windows 7, 64-bit **This connects to my VGA port, I already have 36" Samsung conntected via HDMI, and

Search Viewsonic.com. The Windows generic driver usually works. If you have a special video driver for your Samsung, it may be interfering. Multiple monitors have to be set up through your display driver. The viewsonic should be available through the device manager.

No Signal message

This is a message the monitor displays when the video cable is disconnected or the computer has no video output. Could be the computer is simply entering power save mode. Does the screen come on when you move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard?

Monitor turns on and off

Is it an HP or a Viewsonic screen ?

Either way, looks like a power supply problem to me, some Viewsonic screens are known to have a problem with their inner power supply card, If your screen is still under warranty I suggest you don't lose time analysing the problem and just make them come and fix/replace it

My Viewsonic LCD monitor showing no siganl and blinking continuously. please provide solution

Make sure cables are properly connected in both ends. If you have it hooked up to a laptop, make sure the external monitor is enabled. Usually you can toggle this with the "Fn" key + one of the F1-F8 keys pressed at the same time.

Also check that no pins in the cable are bent or damaged. Try to connect a different monitor to the PC to see if your monitor is at fault, and/or a different PC to your monitor.
