Because that app may be supporting phones only above android 4.4
Hi Kim,
Android 4.4 is actually quite an old version of the O.S. It dates back to October 2013. For you to have an idea, the current version of Android is 8.1. It is possible that the application you want to install requires a more recent version of Android than 4.4.
Sadly, most phones that run version 4.4 cannot be upgraded all the way to 8.1 since each new version of Android requires more and more hardware elements each time, such as requiring more memory or a faster processor.

You should update the 'System' on your phone.
Go to Settings>About Phone
Select 'System Updates' to get your system up to date. This should get you going with Android Market.
You will need some internet connection for this.

Go into the market app on your phone, find my downloads or downloads or my apps or whatever its called on your phone and it should be in that list.
after uninstalling app store updates, l went to the reset button(actually a tiny hole) on the back of my ematic tablet, used a head of a needle(paper clip, etc) to press the reset button. My app store came back. Until ematics works out the kinks l just won't install anymore updates.
