How to fix uneven flame on viking cooktop gas burner?

you can adjust the flames as follows pull a knob and look in the end of the brass peice you will see a small screw first you have to find a screw driver that will fit then with a pair of pliers hold the outer peice with the burner on and turn the screw one way rasies other lowers ideal adj is to turn buner all the way up then fast down if flame goes out to low keep working like that till flame is low but doesnt go out

Bret, lets give this a try. 1st look at the regulator. There is an arrow on it that has to point towards the cooktop. Put is on backwards and very little gas flow. I always advise this first as I have seen people tell me it is correct and when I got out there it was reversed. 2nd was this used as a live demo unit on Propane? If you are on natural gas, this will also happen. The 3rd thing I also check for in something in the gas line on the cooktop side. I had a unit that got some packing in the line and at 5 wc for natural gas, it doesn't take much to restrict. Hope this helps.

I have a viking gas cooktop. The ignitor on one of my front burners wouldn't stop clicking even after the flame ignited. I swapped that ignitor with the ignitor from a back burner, expecting that the problem was with the ignitor and that the back burner would start to click incessantly, but at least I'd have my favorite front burner for use. Instead, the front burner was then only clicking 50% of the time and the back burner was fine, suggesting the problem was related to the burner not the ignitor. I pulled the front ignitor a bit away from the burner and now it is working normally. Hope this helps.

Do not attempt if your stovetop is hot, you will get burned!!

This is an easy fix, the problem is your burners aren't lined up properly. Remove the iron grates (what your pots rest on) and the burner cap (the round black top on the burner) and finally the burner base (the round golden colored piece resting on the stainless stovetop). If you flip the base over you will see that it is keyed, meaning there is a grove that fits the indentation on the stove top. When you replace the base make sure to line the grove up with the indentation. If it's not flush with the stove top, slowly twist the round burner base until it falls into place. That's it!

I had similar problem.Solved by Miele tech by placing rice grain sized wad of paper towel inside knob so it sits slightly higher on the valve shaft.
