I have a monitor HANNS-G It worked 3 years. And exactly after 3 years warrant policy ended my monitor got a problem. It looks like there is a problem in power connection on front buttons. After I connect a power cord to power outlet the green light power is blinking, the monitor doesn't get light screen and stay black. I need to keep it in this position several hours and at last the screen turns on and I can use monitor normal way. If I do not turn off computer and keep it working (no safe method or screen off ! ) my monitor stay working. If I turn off computer for about more than 1 hour and turn it on later, the monitor again does not light on for a long-long time.

Best guess, since they all seem to be different as i have access to two Hanns brand monitors and both are a different size, its most likely a 4, 5, or 6mm. The only way to find out for sure is get some screws and try it, just pay attention to the length, too long and it might not tighten up or damage something internally. They are usually pretty short, looking at the ones i have i would say the screws are maybe 8mm in length max.

Monitors don't need drivers, video cards do. You will need to find out your exact model of video card by running this program:

then go to the site of its manufacturer and you will find its exact driver there, in the Downloads section.

Try another known good working monitor on your computer, if the screen looks good then you know the monitor is bad. If the known good working monitor looks fuzzy as well then you know the video card is bad on it and would need to be replaced.

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem, we have repaired many Hanns-G monitors with this problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts,replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. First, flip the switch for your power surge protector, to see if that resolves. Then, test the monitor on another computer and see if it works. If the monitor still doesn't work, look for another one. Hope that helps.

The older Hanns G monitors had there flukes, contact Hanns G about the issue, there is no physical fix. They will be able to help you. The new Hanns G screens are amazing, i had 3 of the 28" screens off newegg! :)
