SOURCE: PLV-Z1 no longer powering up - Ready light is green and the Lamp light is red
Hey zrscott388, did you end up replacing the bulb and did that fix it? My Z1 is doing the same thing. I hate to spend 300-400 on a bulb and it doesn't work. The Z5 is going for 1100 new on Ebay. I rather do that than waste money. Please let me know.

Solution Found.
I had the same problem with my 42FD5994. It was working fine, then one day I turned the TV on and the front light turned green for about 5 - 10 seconds and then the TV switched to protection mode (front green light is now red and flashing constantly). I did some research and found out the the power board is faulty. I ordered a DIY fix it kit on Ebay for around $55 (includes shipping). The kit contains 5 high temp capacitors and a new IC chip. It also comes with a good detailed photo of the circuit board the components that needed replacing.
I also spent $70 at Radio Shack for some soldering gear and went to work. It took me 3 hours to replace the 6 components. The IC chip was a pain to remove, but one that was out the rest went pretty smooth. I had to remove two extra blue capacitors in front of the IC chip to desolder some of the leads.
After I cleaned the board with Isopropal alcohol (99% pure) to remove the excess flux, I inspected the solder joints to make sure I didn't solder some runs together. All looked good.
Next I put the TV back together and hooked everything back up. I powered on the TV and the same problem as before. The TV went into protection mode. But this time I heard the speakers pop and the screen buzzed. So I pushed in the power button to reset the TV. Next, I turned the TV back on, but this time when the light was green, I quickly pushed the power button again to power off the TV. I tried the TV one last time. I powered the TV back on, and with the remote I turned the TV on. Viola! It worked. The TV powers on great, and works like a champ. I am guessing that the first time I tried to turn the TV on, the new components needed a minute to energize. I also started the TV cold, I should have plugged it in for a few minutes before I tried turning it on.
So, I was successful fixing my 42FD5594 with the DIY kit on Ebay. I ordered it from California. The company was great, and Everything arrived well protected. I figured if this didn't work, it was time to get a new TV anyway. I can save the $2000 for another day.

Mine was doing that and I ordered a replacement power supply board for it and now it work. It's fairly easy to replace.

I would suggest trying to replace the power supply. If that does not fix the issue, i would need to hear more about the computer.
SOURCE: Pioneer SD-532HD5 Projection Screen TV won't turn back on.
the problem with pioneer projection tvs is that when they made the boards they never used enough solder for the circuits and you get cracks in the runs. thats why heat and cold will effect it. I had the same problem and I took out the board and resoldered every track I could and it works good now but my remote wont work if anyone has any info or prints to this tv please post on here
