I just replaced the TV projection lamp for my RCA HD TV MODEL NUMBER M50WH72S. I have sound but no picture. What do I need to do ?

do not touch the lamp during install and if somehow it did touch your skin, you have to cleanit with oilf free napkin and alcohol

You have far more than one problem could be time to call a service.

Check capacitors cp624, cp647 1000uf@35v each. They are in the power supply. Can be seen with bulge on the top. Seems to be a common problem with this model RCA.

I have the exact same TV and have had the exact same problem. I talked to a TV repairman who said it has to be my deflection board. I just found this out today so I am looking all over the web for a deflection board. I hope this helps! Tyson

Check that when you turn on the TV the Lamp is striking (turning on).

My thoughts are that you will have to reset the lamp hours counter to make it work, as the TV does not know that you have replaced the lamp. To do this, check the leaflet that comes with the lamp - it should explain how to reset the counter for the lamp hours.

You need to replace your projection light bulb - the part can run from $100-350 depending on how you shop around, I would suggest ebay- as this was the cheapest route for me.

With audio and no video for a rear projection TV, look at the lamp. Failure of this part is common.
Does the light on the front flash ? Count the number of times it is flashing. Error code.

Check this website to find a replacement lamp for your TV. You will need to use the housing from the defective lamp.

my rca hd model hd50lpw164 has no picture. some sound and a electrical popping noise.

i do not know what happened to my RCA model # M50WH72S
i woke up and went to turn it on and the power was already on and the screen is black and no sound. and the television wont turn off with remote or from front of t.v i have to unplug it. same thing once i plug it back in the t.v power button is on and no picture or sound and wont turn off does anyone know if i need to replace a part ? and where i could find it i dont wanna pay a lot to have someone look at it. i checked the bulb and its in good shape. please help.
