EIther the valve is faulty or the ingiter is corroded or faulty. The inside of the ingniter has a shaft with a probe that keeps heated so it can ignite. It can be corroded.

SOURCE: How doI replace the motherboard

Hello, to replace the intergrated control board on your furnace you need to turn off main power to your furnace, then label the wires so you will know where they go on the new board. Then just take the old board to a hvac supply store and they will give you a replacement and just connect the wires to it and turn on Furnace.

SOURCE: I have a American Standard

Hello, The only time pvc is allowed is if the Furnace is 90% or greater in effiecency, the combustion gases are cooler due to the fact that two heat exvhangers are used. One pipe will be you air intake and the other the exhaust and they can be routed through the roof or sidewall. If the Furnace is 80% then you must use double wall vent pipe and have it connected to either a liner in a chimney or routed through a roof but pvc can not be used.

American Standard Freedom 80 single stage fires up... runs and blows heat for a few minutes then shuts off but then 5 minutes later it repeats the cycle. Any ideas? I have replaced the filter.

A 5 min run time tells me that it is overheating. Probably a dirty evaporator coil, or a loss of airflow due to blower issues. Or even a high temp safety that is opening prematurely? Tstat is calling for heat so its doing its job. It could be overheating or a fault at any of the components in the furnace. 90 percent of the time its a dirty blower wheel, EV. coil, or a missing filter that's so dirty its cutting off the airflow. Hope this helps!

American Standard Freedom 80 - 9 blinks - Ignition issue

I will try to help. Your furnace has to have a good ground before the igniter will work. The draft fan starts purges for a few seconds and the ignitor is supposed to come on. If not check to see if the contacts on the air switch on draft motor are closing. If you ahve changed the ignitor that is not your problem. Another possible problem is the baord that feeds the ignitor. But check the air switch first Rus. Keep in touch.
