The Acer Chromebook may boot to a white screen with the Chrome logo due to a recent update. At this state, the Chromebook downloads and installs the update, and then boots normally within 30-40 minutes.
If there is no updating process going on and the Chromebook boots to a white screen, the following steps should help you resolve the issue. Keep a 4 GB USB flash drive and a computer connected to the internet ready.

  • Press and hold the Esc and Refresh (F3) Keys. Simultaneously press the power button. The Chromebook boots to the Developer mode.
  • Note down the model number displayed at the bottom of the screen.
  • Insert the USB Recovery Flash Drive into your Chromebook.
  • Wait for about 10 minutes while the system recovers from the USB flash drive.
  • Disconnect the USB flash driver once the recovery is complete. The Chromebook restarts automatically.
  • Follow the prompts on the Welcome screen.
Hope the above steps help you resolve the issue. For instant support Call Our Toll-Free 1-866-293-9220

SOURCE: acer not work

Acer Aspire One BIOS Recovery The AA1 has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, making it possible to flash the BIOS even if the system doesn't boot anymore. It's only meant for emergencies and may void your warranty, so use at your own risk.

Follow every step carefully!

First format an USB stick with FAT.

Download the latest BIOS, and put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the stick. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD, that's important. Do not remove the USB stick.

Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected. Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the AA1 on. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be blinking. Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate the BIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a while the power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortly after. Wait patiently.

The BIOS has been flashed and all settings reset to default.

If for some reason you made a mistake during the procedure and it doesn't reboot by itself wait 5 minutes before turning it off, just to be safe that it isn't still flashing the BIOS.

Download WIN98BOOT.ZIP and HPUSBFORMATTER from the internet normal bootable like a diskette won't work with a usb stick
I had mine 2 months it's a common problem with the notebook.
The onely thing that you have to do is download these programs with someone with a internet connection.

Good luck

A try to open my laptop but nothing ,stop to acer screen and after nothing more black i dont no waht a can do

First try a hard reset...remove battery, unplug power and hold power button for a FULL 60 seconds...NOT 59!!!! 60 or more. Now plug in and try to power on? Did it work? If so, just a hangup..it happens. Didn't work? Remove you rem and try to insert them one at a time..maybe bad ram or not properly seated. Still don't work? Try hitting ESC or f12 and select boot from hard disk...Or hit f2 repeatedly and go into SETUP and then select Load Defaults

I was on Facebook and suddenly my screen froze and I can't do anything? How can I restart with out disconnecting?

If its only the browser that froze (e.g. Firefox, IE, Chrome, etc.) then you can try refreshing the page by clicking the refresh button or f5. If that doesn't work, then try closing the browser, restarting it, and then navigating back to Facebook.

If the whole computer froze, you can try ctrl-alt-del on Windows, apple key-option-esc for mac, and ctrl-esc on linux to try to kill any locked up programs, or just do a hard reboot of the computer itself.

Hope this helps!

Login on some https:// websites and the Google Chrome screen goes completely white. A refresh will very briefly display the page before it goes blank again. This happens on the www.citicards.com website...

Have you tried another browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer? Do the website load okay? I tried the site you listed (citicards) and the site loaded just fine with Google Chrome. The Citibank website seems to be a particular loading problem for Chrome. And Extension may be the problem. Go to Tools, Extensions and delete extensions one by one until you no longer have the problem. Also try clearing your cache.

Inspiron 4000 problems

First, can it boot into BIOS setup? This is DEL, Esc, F1, F2, or whatever key your user manual instructs; press the requisite key immediately after pressing the power switch. Second, can it boot from an emergency recovery disk from the floppy, or a boot CD from the CD drive?
