My whirlpool stove is flashing f6E4. Says lost communication. What can I do?

SOURCE: I am getting a ERR F6E4 lost communications error.

HI. This will, generally, require you to replace the entire main control board. Follow the steps below to confirm the damage.

1. Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds.
2. Re-apply power and observe for at least one minute.
3. If code re-appears, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

NOTE_ This repair is not a easy task. It will require you to totally disassemble the entire control panel. If you are not comfortable with this type of repair, i suggest to contact your nearest service tech.

i had some milk boil over and got this error message on our oven. we had a tech come out and he said that we would have to replace a control board for $280. he went away to order the part and in the mean time i had to shut off power to some circuits and when i turned the power to the over back on it worked fine. i would try this before replacing the part
