There are two parts that allow a remote to work. The remote, and the remote sensor in the unit itself. If you've tried more than one remote and you're getting the same issue, then it likely has something to do with the sensor in your TV.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Directv remote will not program to rca L42FHD37R. What is the code? I have tried all of the codes given by Directv.

"This TV utilizes new remote control signal codes and may not be compatible with your existing universal remote (e.g. satellite box remotes, cable box remotes, generic universal remotes, etc.). Over time, newer universal remote controls that become available should pick up the new TV codes."

How do i program my dvd without the codes

Real RCA universal remotes (not all rebranded ones, though) will all code search, either a single button or comb. of 2 or 3 for automatic code search, go to the RCA or general remote wesites for rather complete code listings, or if not available for your model of remote use the specific procedure for code search (most all the Systemlink remotes have 1 button for setup, 1 for code search)- there are a some machines out there that have codes unavailable for the older remotes, the newer ones will access almost everything. Some of the OEM'd remotes manufactured by Thompson had the search function disabled or simply not connected to a button.

No universal remote works with my rca tv model l40fhd41

I helped a friend choose this TV at WalMart. Since I know of the remote issues with Directv, etc., I recommended that he get the Philips 6 in 1 Learning remote for $20. The learning part is the key. I believe it is so new that all stores may not have it yet. It is not on the web site. I have used the Philips learning remotes with 100% success. Give it a try, you can always return the remote (but I believe it will work).

Need codes for rca universal remote rcr312w. for apex tv

With your model number at hand, check the RCA website for a later code list. If you are the exception, you might find one.
Most all remotes have a 'search' function that lets you scan through all of the available code sets but this feature will, in most cases, provide only minimal functionality such as Power, Volume and Channel.
In truth, there isn't any such thing as a 'universal' remote, including the 'learning' remotes; I have one of those and it is unable to 'learn' from either of my later sets' remotes. At best, these should be called (honestly) 'multi-brand.'
