Why will my verbatim 250 gb external hard drive will not show up in the computor or on a media player connected the tv ?

Hard drive could have damaged file system which would require a repair. Hard drive may have failed. Just listen for a clicking sound. If you hear it, your drive is bad.

here is a general look at the drivers and how to update them
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager look through all of your devices if you see a yellow question mark?or exclamation mark ! or red x
right click to reinstall drivers or
if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver
make sure the lead/s that attach to this drive have a secure seating and are not bad/faulty the light on only tells that its getting power it might not be getting enough power you might test the lead/s or
just replace the cable of the hard disk, when you plugged the external disk drive you got that windows could recognize the USB device change the cable everything should work fine again, sometimes the wires inside the cable will be damaged due to bending or stretching or placing heavy equipment upon the cable,
check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red-white-green-black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems
hope this helps

Computer does not read Verbatim #47562 at all. Does not show up even on disc management.

And does it make any sort of clicking sound when connected to the computer?
Either the drive itself is faulty, or the enclosure transforming the drive's interface to USB is not working.
You could always try taking the drive out of the enclosure and connecting it directly to your computer's hard drive interface, but be very careful not to damage anything.

My Verbatim Model #47512 1TB is showing as "Unknown" when connecting to the Computer. It was working earlier today but I removed it and then connected it again and now it's not working.. It's...

An external hard drive is a normal hard drive with a converter to change it to USB.
If you have important information on it, you could open it up, and connect internally to your computer, however, opening it will (almost always) void the warranty.

I'd recommend contacting whoever sold it to you, and asking them: 1) If you can open it up, to connect it internally, to get your data off, and 2) For a replacement.

Good luck with it.

Can the drivers of the Verbatim 8GB Store N' Go drivers be replaced?

As far as I am able to tell, this device doesn't require drivers. It uses the Windows drivers, or those of your operating system There is V-key softare available from Verbatim's site, that's all.

they have lifetime warranty but not for the data. this is a damaged boot sector programming on the flash drive. It can only be recovered via a Level 3 data recovery company like ADR or Kroll. I used ADR.

Verbatim 160GB Hard Drive won't boot.

Try it on another PC or on a powered USB hub: maybe it's not getting enough power to run.

If it still doesn't work, and you don't hear the drive's spin-up noise, the electronics may be damaged, the internal disk disconnected or the internal power connection faulty.

If you hear the spin-up whirring and then a series of repeated whirrs and clacks, ending after about 30 seconds - one minute, the disk might be damaged. It still might be recoverable if extracted from the case and connected directly to an appropriate hard disk port (a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter might be necessary), but when things go this far, the chances aren't too good.

Verbatim drive regularly does not show up as available. I have to unplug it and try to get it to reset. do you know how to fix?

Hello!
I checked the Verbatim website for common Windows/USB drive problems. Since I don't know your exact model the information I'm giving is pretty general, but from the Verbatim website it looked like something that could help.

For one, Verbatim says you don't need drivers for your drive to work, but if you're having issues installing their driver might help. Go to their website (Verbatim.com) and in the top left go to "Support". From there you should be able to enter your model and download drivers. The installation instructions are usually on the same page.

The second potential fix is to increase the USB power to the drive. The Verbatim site says that some of their drives require plugging into 2 USB ports to get enough power to run the drive. If this is the case for your drive, you should've gotten a USB cable that is shaped like a "Y". The two wires at the "top" of the "Y" go into two USB ports on your computer. It also said that if even you didn't get the cable you could still be having power issues. You'll have to go to the Support section of the site and enter your model number to see if this could still be the problem.

Good luck! Remember to rate the responses you get!
