This happens due to lack of lubrication. The air that runs thru the regulator is very moist and caused the internal parts of the regulator to rust. With no air pressure in the tank, take the regulator apart and lube the threads on the adjustment knob. Also remove the plug on the rear of the regulator and lube the plunger valve. You may find that the valve is stuck to the plug. Separate the valve from the nut and clean / lube. You may also find that the regulator is too far gone and needs to be replaced. Good luck with the repair.

SOURCE: porter cable compressor regulator output reads 0.

sounds like it was turned too far back, its just a spring and a screw in there see if you can t turn it to the positive enough times to make it come back if not you might have to replace the regulator, i wouldn't recommend trying to dismantle it and fix it, it could cause serious injury or damage to tools, also the plastic knob may be striped out on top

SOURCE: porter cable pancake compressor will not shut off replaced manifold, still the same.

I would look at the pressure switch which shuts the electric off when the air pressure reaches its limit also check all wires going to and from this switch. Best checked with a multi-meter.

Porter Cable 150 psi 6 gal compressor tank builds up to 150 psi but 'regulated air' stays at zero and, of course, no air out. Thanks

The attached link provides a work around,
There are repair kits available. Dissemble and make sure that you document the assembly for reassembly. Common problem.

Hope this helps.

My Porter Cable pancake outlet regulator doesn't seem to work.

If your quick coupler is not jammed up, (remove & test) and assuming you are pulling the regulator knob out to adjust the pressure and it is not stripped, you will need a new manifold kit.
There are about 6 versions of this unit so you will need model and type to get the correct part. There are no individual regulator parts available for this unit.

The manifold which holds the Air Hoses and control valve and gauge is broken and I need a new one ,dont know the part number

We repair lots of compressors with broken manifolds. Most compressors now use a manifold with a built in pressure regulator. We are not able to find exact matches so we use a manifold from porter cable or make one out of pipe fittings. If your compressor was made in china, most likely the thread and tubing sizes are almost impossible to match. To use porter cable parts, go to dewalt service center or to porter cable dealer and find close match then use that model number for ordering your part. Check closely that parts/thread/fittings will work.

The regulator knob is broke. Where can I get a replacement? Replacement parts diagrams do not show the knob as replacement part.

You can't buy the regulator knob as a seperate part, you have to buy the entire manifold; Porter Cable part number N003001. Shop around on parts sites as these cost around $70 plus any shipping and handling. Depending on how often you have to change the regulated pressure output it may not be worth replacing.

My porter cable c2002 150 psi gal compressor the pressure regulator is always set at 0 and no air at outlets, but the tank is fill of air 150psi. what could be the problem

According to Porter-Cable (Delta) themselves, they had lots of bad regulators on these compressors. I'm waiting for one myself. Same issue

Worked fine previously. Now when turned on the tank pressure comes up normally . However, the regulated pressure gauge reads zero and there is no airflow.

What happens when you twist the regulated pressure knob, as you would to increase the regulated pressure? Does the knob turn? Does it turn until it stops, but still reads zero? If so, it sounds like the regulator pressure spring is broken. That's inside the regulator, and you will probably have to replace the regulator.

Extra fitting on my Porter Cable?

CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU HAVE. IF ITS ON THE REGULATOR - THE REGULATOR USUALLY HAS AN INLET, OUTLET, GAUGE PORT AND A PLUG IN THE OTHER SIDE IN CASE YOU NEED TO MOVE THE GAUGE. SOME MANUFACTURERS PUT SAFETY VALVES IN THIS PLUG PORT. IF THIS DOESNT FIX IT GIVE A LITTLE MORE DETAIL. IS THERE ANYTHING WRITTEN ON IT. HOPE THIS HELPS, JODY
