SOURCE: searching for base

My long-term experience with these phones is that occasionally, they get themselves into some kind of weird state: this is usually indicated by the flashing "searching" message.

In all cases it's been cured by unplugging the power supply AND the phone-line (both simultaneously) from the base, waiting a few seconds, then re-connecting. Normally this sorts things out, but will require you to re-set time& date (the base can sometimes still derive power from the incoming 50v line). Batteries out of handsets is a last (addtional) resort. I've very rarely had to re-register.

Why does my Panasonic KX-TGM420 go straight to voice mail?

Voicemail is a service of your telephone company. If your calls are going to voicemail, check the settings following the directions for the service. If the answering system is getting the calls, then check if the KX-TGM420 handset(s) and base are set to a ringer volume of 0. You can change this from either the base or a handset by pressing the + button while the phone is ringing. Otherwise, when the phone system is in standby (no calls in or out), press # 1 6 0 on a handset or * # 1 6 0 on the base. Then set the ringer volume on the handset (0-6) or base (0-10). This is the equivalent of pressing menu and navigating through the menu (Menu > Settings > Ringer Adjustment > Ringer Volume (Incoming)). You can also turn off the ringer by pressing and holding 0 on the handset and Ringer Off on the base. See pages 33 and 44 of the manual, link below.

I hope this helps. The manual is available here: https://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TGM420/OI/TGM420_PNQX7794YA/TGM420_PNQX7794YA.pdf .

How do I silence the ringer on my Panasonic PNLC1040?

The Panasonic PNLC1040 is the charger for the KX-TGFA30 handset of the cordless phone system. One of the phone systems with this handset and charger is the KX-TGF340. You can set the Ringer Volume to off in the Menu of the handset (see page 30 of the manual). Make sure that the phone system is in Standby (no calls in or out or no other handsets are in use). Press Menu. Type in # 1 6 0. Alternatively, navigate to Settings with the Up/Down arrows, press Select (see the label on the LCD screen for the two soft keys above Talk and Off). Navigate to Ring Adjustments and select this. Select Ringer Volume. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the ringer volume to Off and then press the key for save. Press Exit to leave the menu system.

There is also a silent mode that turns off the ringer for all handsets and the base (or a select group of handsets). The basic silent mode is set by pressing Menu # 2 3 8. Select On or Off and Save. Set the start and end time of the silent time schedule. Press OK as needed. Use * to set AM/PM. Save and then press Exit to leave the menu system. This is described on pages 35-36 in the manual.

The manual is available at ManualsLib here: https://www.manualslib.com/products/Panasonic-Kx-Tgf340-3819542.html . The link to page 30 is https://www.manualslib.com/manual/939182/Panasonic-Kx-Tgf340.html?page=30#manual . For the silent mode, see page 35 on: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/939182/Panasonic-Kx-Tgf340.html?page=35#manual

How do I get my older Panasonic hand set phone to ring on an incoming call?

The KX-TGA401C handset works with the KX-TG401x, KX-TG403X and KX-TG651x phone systems among others. If you have the appropriate base, see the suggestions below.

Does your handset read Ringer Off? Try setting the ringer volume. With the phone system in standby (no calls in or out for any handset), press Menu. Navigate using the Up/Down arrows to Initial Settings. Press Menu/OK. Navigate to Ringer Settings and press OK. Press OK again to enter the Ringer Volume sub-menu. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the ringer volume and press OK to save. Press Off to exit the menu system.

The other possibility is that the handset is not registered to the base. Note: only 6 handsets can be registered to the base. If you previously registered 6 handsets, you need to deregister some of them.
To register the handset, hold the handset near the base since you will need to press buttons on both. Press Menu on the handset and navigate to and enter Initial Settings. Navigate to Registration and press OK. Navigate to HS Registration and press OK. On the base, press and hold the Locator button for 5 seconds and the registration tone sounds. Press OK on the handset you are trying to register. If all the registered handsets start ringing, you triggered the Locate handset function. Press the Locator button again. Then do the press and hold step again. Only press OK on the handset when you hear the registration tone.

You can find the manual for the KX-TG4011 here: https://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/KX-TG4011N.html . The direct link to the manual is https://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg4011_mul_om.pdf . See page 21 for the directions to set the ringer volume.

I hope this helps.

Turn ring on

Do you mean the Panasonic KX-TGA470 handset? The KX-TGA470 handset is the included handset for several models of Panasonic cordless phone systems, including the KX-TG7732. When the ringer is off, the handset should show a bell with a line through it. To adjust the ring volume, press Menu on that handset when the phone is in standby. (The base and handsets are not in use.) After pressing the Menu button, type # 1 6 0. (Alternatively, use the arrow keys to navigate to Initial Settings and press the soft key for Select. Navigate to Ringer Settings and press Select again. Go to Ringer Volume Handset and press Select once more.) Use the arrow keys to select a value between 0 and 7. 0 will keep the ringer disabled. Press the soft key for Save. Press Off to exit the menu.

You can also adjust the ringer volume on that handset by pressing the Volume Up key while the phone is ringing at the base and other handsets. You can adjust the base ringer volume by pressing the + or - keys when the phone is ringing. Alternatively, press Menu # * 1 6 0 from any handset. Note: this phone system also has a silent mode. Press Menu # 2 3 8 to enable or disable the feature. When this is enabled, the handset will show an icon with several Z's.

You can find the manual on the phone system page: https://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/KX-TG7732S.html . The current link to the manual is ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg7731_mul_om.pdf . See pages 23 and 35 for the ringer volume adjustment. See pages 35 and 40 for information on the silent mode.

I hope this helps.

Can't turn ringer on cordless panasonic KX-TGA402C phone. How do i turn it on?

KX-TGA402C is the included handset for a Panasonic cordless phone system like the KX-TG4011C. You should be able to adjust the ringer volume from the Initial Settings menu. With the phone system in standby, press Menu on one handset. Use the Up/Down arrows to locate the Initial Settings. Press OK. Then select Ringer settings and press OK. Select Ringer Volume and press OK. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the desired Ringer volume and press OK to save. Press Exit to leave the menu system. Alternatively, you can adjust the ringer volume by pressing the Volume Up/Down buttons while the phone is ringing.

The manual for the KX-TG4011 is available from Panasonic here: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg4011_mul_om.pdf . If the above steps aren't working, check that your handset and phone base are properly paired (registered handset). Also check that the base has power and connected to a working phone line. Also make sure that the handset is fully charged.

I hope this helps.

Turn ringer back on Panasonic cordless kxtg101s

The KX-TG101s isn't a model that I recognize. Do you mean the KX-TGA101 handset? If so, that handset goes with the KX-TG1031 base.

If this is the right handset, make sure that the entire phone system is in standby. Press Menu/OK and navigate to Handset Settings with the Up/Down arrows. Press Menu again and navigate to Ringer settings. Press Menu and navigate to Ringer Volume. Press OK and use the up/down keys to set the desired volume. Press OK and then Off to exit the menu system. You may also want to check the Ringer tone in the same Ringer setting menu. The tone may not be set to one that you hear.

See page 24 of the manual, which is currently available from ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg1031_en_om.pdf .

I hope this helps. If you still don't hear the phone ring, you may need to check your phone wiring and the base. I often check phone wiring with an old-fashioned wired phone.

When answering mode is on I do not want to hear the ringing(4x) tones before going to answering.I've switched off the 'call screen' option. still I hear the ringing although not recording at least.

Just set the ringing volume to off.
You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high) separately on each handset or the base.
With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or turn it completely off.
Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won't ring. Other handsets or base will ring according to their individual settings
