Hi..

To upgrade your memory besure that you will know what is the socket of your memory slot. Before you buy a memory look at your memory socket first so that the memory you buy is totally fix to the socket. Open you unit and look for the memory stick inside. If you dont have a little experience on how to upgrade it's better that you will go to the computer shop to ugrade your unit. So that the upgrading is successful, if you can do it with your own it is ok because it is not expensive.

Z3 will not accept a 2g card

The Dimage Z3 accept SD cards up to 1GB (Minolta says 512 Mb, and sold it with 16Mb). This camera is 4MP , and uses less memory on card, therefore a 512MB card will be enough for it.

SanDisk Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory ...

from $13 - 20 stores

PNY Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory Card ...

SanDisk SD Industrial Flash memory card - 512 ... from $14

Update BIOS for memory upgrade

You cannot change the memory settings in BIOS. All you need to do is go into the bios screen. confim that it has seen your new memory and "save and exit" If it is not showing your new memory try removing and reinstalling the memory confirming it is installed correctly. it should just see it.

RAM NOT DETECTING

I had the same issue on this board where it came with a Samsung 512 MB 533 MHz PC2-4200 DDR2 DIMM. I put in a 1 GB Kingston with the same specs (533 MHz PC2-4200 DDR2) and it would not recongize the Samsung anymore with the system reading as 1 GB of RAM instead of 1.5 GB. Tried every configuration and would only see the Kingston. It would only see the Samsung if I pulled out the Kingston regarless of the slots I use. So, I just bought the exact same make/model of Kingston and it recognized that fine and the system now has 2 GB of memory (max this board allows). And, I had already installed the latest BIOS for this board from Intel before doing all this so wasn't an old BIOS. I'm figuring the board didn't like something about the Samsung memory (speed, module configuration, etc.) that made it not play nice with the Kingston. If interested I bought the DM8400A/1G Kingston modules. And, this board appears not to support dual channel memory. Only has channel A, slots 0 and 1, and I read need two channels to support dual channel (seems obvious). Boards that supports dual channel memory normally have 4 memory slots, two for channel A and two for channel B, then put in matching modules in slot 0 for channel A and B and have dual channel memory access. And if want more ram, then matching modules in slot 1 for channel A and B.

Nec ready 120lt parts

You need a Type 2 PCMCIA card for this laptop. I was able to find a wired one here. Be sure that your OS will work with the card you choose. Also I have no experience with that website, so buyer beware. Another good place to find older computer parts is eBay, happy hunting.
