Likely a bad card sensor. Check with your Zebra dealer for possible warranty coverage (if less than 2-years old or you have the optional Zebra OneCare plan), of other service options. No you cannot use a ZXP Series 3 ribbon on a ZXP Series 1, or vice-versa. All Zebra ribbons contain RFID tags with ribbon specifications, including the ribbon type (part-number). The printer validates the ribbon as matching the printer you're using, and allows or disallows use, depending on if it is specified for the model or not.

The printer has upper and lower transfer rollers that have to be brought up to and maintain a certain temperature for the image-transfer step in printing. The HCB board (halogen control board) reports a 14002 error, it is indicating that it is not able to either reach or maintain the proper temperature. That means one or the other heaters is bad, a sensor is bad, or a power-control component is bad. Regardless of which, this can be address only by servicing the printer. Contact your Zebra dealer if the printer is still under warranty or a Zebra extended-warranty agreement.

Mechanical error can be a lot of things, you have to take the printer to a tech so he can open and see if orange ribbon its lose and need to be replaced.

Error Code 4001

System error code 4001 means "The local WINS cannot be deleted." This error code may also display as "ERROR_CAN_NOT_DEL_LOCAL_WINS" or as the value 0xFA1.

Error Code 4002

System error code 4002 means "The importation from the file failed." This error code may also display as "ERROR_STATIC_INIT" or as the value 0xFA2.
